  1. Hi Rupert do you have any suggestions for a more realistic route for a sole trader that could help??
  2. Hi there I would be interested to hear what you have found out, I'm a Photographer as well as a Hairdresser and have thought about this route many a time!!
  3. Hi kezfods Sorry for a late reply haven't been on here for a while!! I got a confirmation letter from City & Guilds confirming that my Diploma Level 2 is the exact same as an NVQ Level 2. This is to be enclosed with the visa application and it is up to that assessing body whether you still have to do a skills test or not. Some are saying they have had to do it others are saying they haven't, so it all depends when your application goes in. When and where are you looking at going??
  4. Hi talesofatwinmum I don't have any answers for your questions but may I suggest looking up Alan Collett on here from Go Matilda they are pretty good and the most helpful of all the agents I have ever spoken or there is another guy on here to called Rupert don't know the rest but he I think is an agent or something. The only other suggestion is to phone to Australian Immigration themselves and find out exactly what they say. Hope this helps you, and good luck
  5. Found the answers now
  6. Thank you Very Stormy! I am still waiting to hear from a couple of agents, just thought I would ask the question incase anyone else has been through something similar
  7. Hi there Just wondered if anyone can help. I'm a little confused by the qualifications that are required for a 190 visa. I currently hold a Diploma Level 2 in Ladies Hairdressing (City & Guilds) and an NVQ Level 3 in Hairdressing (City & Guilds). The Level 3 certificate I received in March this year. My Diploma I gained in July 2010. What I need to know is whether my Diploma Level 2 is the equivalent of the Australian Certificate III. I also have one year paid as a Hairdresser and two years unpaid training experience can I use this??? Now I have set up self employed again and only been going a few months, running a Photography and Hairdressing business can I use this as a gateway to Australia??? Any advice would be much appreciated
  8. Thank you Alan, when I spoke to the agent yesterday they asked me to write down the costs whilst I was on the phone to them, which I did, then they said the costs would all be in the follow up e-mail that they were sending yesterday. All I received from the agent was a letter of Terms and Conditions for if I decide to go with them and a Pro Forma invoice for their charges to do the visa. There was no list of the costs and what the costs are for. I have a list of questions to ask them today see what they have to say but I will be ringing around other agents as I am now not sure if I received correct advice in the first place.
  9. I spoke to an agent today with regards to 190 visa. We are just about to start on it, but I am a little miffed to be honest. Not once was it been mentioned about the rising cost of the visa application and according to this thread it has been known for over a week. Feeling a bit let down & confused :err: really not sure what to make of it or the migration agent that neglected to mention the additional costs.
  10. Thank you Rupert my partners occupation is on the list but he actually comes under four different things.............so we are going to have to find out which code is the best one to use. Thank you to all you lovely people for all your advice just going to find an Agent give them a ring & double check, cross the t's & dot the i's before we go back to this man
  11. Thank you ABA that's what we thought & we were told originally it just threw us a little when this guy said that. I think it might be because the other guy only has a trade of Electrician nothing in Agriculture at all that they have had problems.
  12. Hi there just wondered if anyone could help us........? My partner has just been offered a job this week in the area we want to be in, however the guy has explained to us that he is not a Business Sponsor as of yet, he is willing to do this for the right person, which is my partner, but he has been told by a migration officer that people cannot get in on a 457 visa into Agriculture. He has already tried to sponsor a guy recently but found there to be a problem as the guy's main trade was an electrician and the government weren't keen on him going into Agriculture. What we would like to know is that my partner has worked in Agriculture all his life & wants to work in Australia, it has always been one of his goals in life, we want to know is this possible on the 457 Visa & if it is not is there another route we can choose to go down...............????? Any suggestions, advice would be much apprecaited
  13. Hi there people just wanted to check if anything had changed since I last posted this thread with regards to shipping pets to Perth. We were hoping we would be there by now but we have had a lot of problems..........so we are just checking through all the information we got at the moment. Any extra guidance would be muchly appreciated

Please help!!!!

Hi I don't know if this will help but we were told to provide photos of holidays, functions we had been to, special occasions we had had as a couple, receipts & copies of transfers between our accounts, receipts of items we had paid for each other, and testomines from close friends & family. I have been told the more info you can gather the better!!! Hope it helps & good luck
  17. HI jhampa - my OH is a farmer.......does that make any difference???
  18. Hi, just wondering if anybody knows of any changes affecting the 457 visa after the July changes? We are waiting for our prospective employer to pull his finger out and get registered. Just want to know if we have got anything to be concerned about if it goes past july before we lodge our application.:arghh:
  19. Thank you guys for all your comments. Apologies for taking so long to respond. We will definitely look into everything. We are desperate to bring our collie with us too
  20. Hi there & welcome. We had quite a debate over our situation last July, when my OH was offered a good job. My son had just turned 5 & he doesn't like change. We debated over how to tell him & how things would fair. We also had another problem his dad. We spoke things through with his dad first & eventually he agreed to the move & had consented. I then with his dad sat down & told my 5year old what was going on & surprisingly he was very excited!! And he has been ever since. For us my son being the age of 5 is alot easier than the ages you have to contend with, but it still didn't stop me from worrying as he is close to his dad & his dad's family & he is close to all my family & he has a huge circle of friends for a 5 year old, but for some reason he is really excited by the prospect, but that could all change for me once I am there with him & reality hits that we won't see people like we do now. All I can offer is some sort of words of comfort, I have watched Wanted Down Under several times now & seen children to a similar age of yours. They have gone out to OZ not looking forward to & then seen the lifestyle they can have compared to here & loved it & totally changed their minds. This maybe the case for your youngest. Just bear with them, maybe every now then show him something from the area you are looking at, that will interest him. My son has seen pictures of the school he will be going too, I found out about football for him there & looked into other outdoor activities that he will enjoy & he is quite pleased. But I have done it all slowly over a period of months rather than all in one go. It is different for everyone. As far as medical care goes, most things you can get through medicare but there is good private healthcare there too so I have been told, & we are looking into it a bit more as I will be needing more medical care when we are there. If I find out anything I will let you know. I wish you good luck for the future & hope it all works out.
  21. Thank you BobPetairUK, apologies for replying sooner I have been a little busy - that was more helpful than vets & everywhere else I have looked. Time to start booking our collie in for her jabs.
  22. thanks snifter I will have look at those sites. I am shipping from the UK. Did you ship a pet to WA??
  23. Hi there we are looking to ship our beloved collie to WA with us. However, I have tried talking to the vets, defra & immigration about what jabs she exactly needs & how long the process takes but I have not had a straight answer. I gather she needs a rabies injection but that is all I know. I don't know what time scale this has to be done, how to get her pet passport etc......... Can anyone help me that has been through it & also give me any advice on what company is the best to go with to ship her????
  24. Thank you vixxy666 - that is something to bear in mind to maybe have included on our 457 visa
