  1. Hello Phu truong and others, I got the best news of the day when i received the email of my visa grant. Here is my timeline: Sponsorship and nomination applied : 17th June Visa Applied : 20th June Sponsorship approved : 25th June Medical done : 3rd July Case officer appointed and asked for additional documents : 16th July Nomination approved 22nd July Visa Granted 6th August Total 6 weeks and 3 days, just a couple of days before, i emailed my case officer and asked him about tentative date of decision as my employer is getting impatient, and after 2 days i got visa approval. Good luck everyone i hope everyone who is in the same waiting phase hear good news soon!! Cheers
  2. Oh that is quite a wait for you... after going through this forum, i was expecting to hear good news in coming days... though ive read too that the visa process takes 3 months for high risk countries, but here i read success stories of getting visa in a months time. i also know a few colleagues of mine who got it within 2 months.. i think no one can understand DIBP strategy to give visa to majority people within a month and to drag others for quite a while. I hope we hear some good news in days to come... Good luck
  3. ... Applied for Medical registration in Feb, was advised after 6 weeks to give a assessment exam, took 2 months to appear and pass the assessment, then after the result, it took AHPRA two weeks to give me principal approval for registration...
  4. Hello, I also applied on 20th June. it's been 5 weeks exactly, here is my timeline so far Nomination and Sponsorship applied 16th June Visa Applied 20th June Sponsorship approved 25th June Medicals completed 3rd July Case officer allotted and further info 17th July Nomination approved 22nd July I was reading elsewhere that it delays process if your in healthcare sector? is that the case? because i can see some people getting 457 in 2-3 weeks while the rest wait for months... also do it effect if there is single applicant in your application or multiple? as i am single, i thought maybe my application will be expedited but getting all nervous as i have to be in Australia before 6th September...
  5. Hello, There has been quite encouraging success stories. I am in the waiting phase now, and started to get a bit anxious. Can anyone tell me what is the average processing time of visa approval for someone from high risk country who is still overseas? Here is my timeline Sponsorship and nomination applied : 17th June Visa Applied : 20th June Sponsorship approved : 25th June Medical done : 3rd July Case officer appointed and asked for additional documents : 16th July Nomination approval pending How long it takes for nomination to be approved and after that how long it takes for visa grant? As i have applied on my own without the involvement of any agent. so i am a bit confused. My employer told me initially that it takes around 4-5 weeks, but it took whole 4 weeks for a case officer to be appointed. Any information in this regard will be highly appreciated. Kind regards

  7. Hello, i am a doctor by profession and will be coming to Melbourne late December/Early January to give my AMC clinical exam due in late Feb/early March . I will have business short stay subclass 456 visa which allows me to stay in Australia for upto 3months with multiple entries for a year. hopefully, after successful completion of my exam, ill be searching a job there and will be permanently settling there. But i have nothing planned as yet, that is why im very confused, and need some guidance. 1) I know not a single soul on Aussie land and will be coming alone. Can anyone guide how much will be the expense monthly (considering i will not be able to work with subclass 456 visa) 2) How to get a place to live for at least 3 months before reaching australia? 3) Which is a nice place to settle initially? 4) is there some way to open a bank account before coming to Australia? Any help in this regard will be highly appreciated. I may ask other questions when they come in my mind Regards
