  1. Hi Sorry to all for the delay in reply. I do not have work yet as I hope to set up my own business or find work with a local company. I am an electrician and cabinet maker. Although I am quite happy to learn a new skill if it is required. My relatives are in Castle Hill, it seems a but pricey for my pocket. But anything around that area seems to be the same. I have looked at places like Ropes Crossing and the house prices were favourable. But, I have had quite discouraging comments made about how close it is to Blacktown and how I would not want to live near social housing projects. Also looked at Stanhope Gardens with much the same reaction. I want somewhere that the kids can go to school easily, and that is family friendly. I am not to worried about night life yet but need somewhere that the kids can see a movie or go the the shops safely and easily. I am flexible i where I live as everything is a blank canvas.
  2. Hi To All My family and I are moving to Australia in November 2012. We are staying with relatives for three months. I cannot figure out where we should live? I have two children aged 13 and 16. Want to live somewhere affordable but with enough for the kids to do something. Can anyone suggest places? Thanks Neel1968
  3. To All, We are moving to Sydney in November. Does anyone have any comments on removal/shipping companies? Are they all the same or some better that others? I want one that handles the complete move door to door. Thanks Neel1968
  4. Hi To All Can anyone advise where we should look for affordable housing in or around Castle Hill? We will need a 3 or 4 bed house with double garage. I hope to buy outright but do not have a huge budget. Good schools, transport and shopping will help. Guidance will be appreciated. Thanks Neel1968
  5. Hi To all, We are moving to Sydney in November 2012. We have two children 16 and 13. Can anyone recommend high schools in or around the Castle Hill area? Both enjoy music, swimming and my son likes cricket. Thanks Neel1968
  6. Thanks for that I will have a look. Neel1968
  7. We hope to move to Melbourne. I had to go for state sposorship after waiting 3 years for my 175 visa and then being told it might never get processed. I want to attend the guitar making college there and then move into making guitars, furniture and building eco holiday lodges. I am becoming a bit of a hippy these days and want to relax a bit after the hectic life here. Hey, but I still have to get there which is getting a bit problematic anyway. Neel1968
  8. Hi Cal, I do not realise how much stuff I had until I stepped back and looked at it! I will have to speak with the shippers to find out what they suggest about my cast iron table saw. It needs about 4 people to lift it. It only weighs 1200kg. I am looking forward to thier faces when they try ;-) So are you enjoying Brisbaine? Neel1968
  9. Thanks to both of you for your advice. I will haveto get started as I have a whole workshop to pack. Neel1968
  10. Hi to all I am a cabinet maker and have alot of hand tools and workshop tools that I want to take with me if I am granted my visa. By workshop machines have saw dust in them. How clean do the Aussies expect me to get them? Are they to be spotless or as clean as I can get them? May be I should not take them? I look forward to your advice. Many thanks Neel1968
  11. Hi to all Sorry this is not a direct reply, but I logged my application over three and a half years ago for a 175 visa. I had to change it to a state sponsored 176 visa about 6 months ago. In the mean time I developed hypertension and type 2 diabeties. I have had my medical now but they are asking for alot more information and I have pasted the 70 day period that the medical should have been sent. The panel doctor said that once they ask for more info the period does not matter. I am now worried that I will not be grantred a visa due to my conditions althought they are being treated and under control. Any thoughts would be helpful? Many thanks Neel1968
  12. Hi, My wife and I felt the same so I had my skills assessed and lodged our application over two years ago. Now we are thinking of State sponsorship to get the application moving or we will miss out. Good luck, but get out there as soon as you can. GB and EU are in the same boat as the USA. It's going to take decades to pay off the debt. But keep smiling.
