  1. Hi Flake, I live in Mid-Devon, work in Exeter for a Law firm and also grew up in N Devon. I'm going in the opposite direction to you! If you want to pick my brain then please PM me.
  2. Hi simonchilly, It's form 1229 and yes you can download it on immi website. There are some guidance notes with it.
  3. Thank you. Its so exciting and those few weeks waiting seemed to last forever and it turned me into a complete insomniac as I was checking my phone every hour to see if i had an email (and when blackberry had their email glitch I nearly had a nervous breakdown!!). Anyway on to the next bit now. I have a 6 year old son so I want to be out there for the beginning of January so he has some time to settle in and then start the new school year hopefully with some others. I am taking our collie out and so I was desperate to get good news so I can fly her before the end of the year when the new rabies regulations come in. I did not want her to have an unnecessary vaccination or wait for her. There really is so much too this - think we must all be crazy  but i don't think I'll be thinking that when I am sat by my pool with the smell of the bbq and a cold glass of white wine in my hand after a hard day at the beach (i know everyday won't be like that but at least some of them will be!). I had a MA and I think the application was lodged in Brisbane and my sponsor has been through the process before and there was a few of us. Good luck to everyone waiting.
  4. Hi Cal, Off to the Noosa area. I think I will be missing my free prescriptions when I get over there, but there are lots of other things to make up for that and in particular because I have raynauds as part of the MCTD I am really looking forward to having warm hands for most of the year  My sponsor paid for the MA and I was really pleased to have them. They were very professional and if I'm honest I couldn't fault them. Are you out there already or getting ready to go over?
  5. Hi everyone, I have been lurking on PIO for ages. I am going to Oz with my partner and son on a 457 visa. I have well controlled mixed connective tissue disease (very similar to lupus). I felt sure that a medical would be required and was really very worried about it as I have seen quite negative posts about getting a visa with this condition. So I thought I would post for anyone else searching for information on this in the future that my 457 was approved today with no medical required. I provided recent reports from my consultants along with the application and a bupa health check report that I had from a few years back which showed everything well controlled for me. I fully appreciate that the situation may be different for PR and so if after 12 mths we decide that we like it and would like to stay beyond the 4 years then I will start the PR process early.
  6. Hi all, This is my first post having been lurking on here for ages. Have been waiting for our 457 to be approved and didn't want to post before in case I jinxed myself. I have a well controlled medical condition (I'm going to post about that in health) and was really worried about needing a medical but no and our visas were approved today  My timeline: nomination and application submitted 22.09.11 request for further information 21.10.11 (CO required certified copy of OH RAF discharge certificate) approved 28.10.11
