We have been in Sydney now for 1 month and want to cancel our $170 pm Bupa cover as it basicly covers you for the same as Medicare! The problem is, I can't find anyone who just provides ambulance cover for someone on a 457 visa. Can anyone help?

Just a quick tax calculation gives me approx $750 pw so $1500 for both of us ! Reading these posts is making me really nervous and confused. The company who has offered me a job needs a decision by next week.... HELP

Thanks Hoff, We have been looking around for apartments and it looks like there's a good selection around $500 PW. Doing the basic sums it looks like my wage would cover the day 2 day bills and my girlfriend will bring in the fun money! I'm just a bit worried about our standard of life will go down hill due to too much work and no time to play and the whole reason for the move, is to have a better standard of life !

Hi Poms, I have just been offered a Job in Sydney for $50K plus supper, I realise I would struggle on my own but my girlfriend should be able to earn something similar. I know it depends on your life style but we are quite comfortable here in the UK with no kids, on a combined salary of £50K in the Midlands. Any thoughts and coments would be greatly appreciated as ive got to make a decision soon!:err:
