  1. Also- why is it asking for my mum and dads original marriage certificate AND my dads original birth certificate??! Is that right- those are pretty tough documents to get a hold of.... Especially when I live in aus and they both live in the UK.... So confused I'm not sure if it applys to me and I've got the wrong form... But it prints off a checklist for a person born in UK after 1982 and father born in UK. My mum is UK born too- why has it not an option for both parents born in UK?!
  2. maybe we have the same case officer??? hehe. ill keep you updated! and let me know how you get on x
  3. applied for my partner visa middle of November 2011- i know its only the end of Jan now and dont expect to hear for another few months but just wondering if everyone had to wait the 5-6 months processing times or less? im very anxious! all police clearances etc are in so i only await the yes or no. thanks you xx:arghh:
  4. Little bit confused by all this valid from entry dates/ resident return visa stuff.. If I am given august as my date to last enter- and say I went over in April or nay to validate my visa- do you reckon I would be all good to then leave again, have baby at hone in September and then move over Australia officially by say march or April 2013?
  5. Sorry what do you mean by time frame? Thanks for all the info . You have helped a lot. So saymy initial entry date is august 3rd 2012. I could go in say April for validating and a holiday... Then come home. Have baby- and then come back whenever? Is there a specific timescale in which you are allowed to spend out of the country? Thanks
  6. Wow I think you have just solved my problems, so you actually migrated there after baby born? Did your child have to get a visa? My partner is uk and aussi citizen, so ther is no problem with him getting in and out of uk. I thought when you were granted a visa you had to be in and living there from the date given. I did not realize you could leave over a long period without it causing any problem. Thank you so much for the info I feel so relieved j don't have to rush over there to set up camp, just yet.
  7. So when you went in to validate- how long after did you actually move over there? I just don't want to bombard my co with loads of questions until I have looked into it all properly. Thanks peach
  8. Thanks peach. Do you know if you can enter before your initial entry date? As I could do that... To validate it, then go home again. Or is that just going to cause problems when I re appear with a new born baby?!
  9. Thank you for your help. Yes have had my Medicals. I applied for partner visa in nov and had all my checks meds etc done in august. I was well prepared! If only I knew this was going to happen and I would have put my visa ap in later. This was not planned and now the idea of leaving for Australia is terrifying me. I'm going to want nothing more than to have my mum and family around me ! Does anybody know of you are able to postpone a visa to a later date? Even if I need to do my Medicals , police checks etc again?
  10. I am being processed for a 309 partner visa. I'm in the uk at the moment, and have fallen pregnant- I'm 5 weeks in. I believe that when you are granted your partner visa they give you an "initial entry" date which goes from when your police clearances etc are valid from- so I'm calculating by my papers I'll be given august as this is when I revieved my clearances etc. Problem with this is that I'm actually at bursting point with baby! And if I leave any sooner I am not going to receive any maternity pay from my work. This is a real tricky one- if anybody can give any advice please do... Does anybody know if the date can be Saunders given the circumstances? Thanks x
  11. Thanks for reply, but do you know if case officers hold your visa until baby is born? By tome baby is here o will have to do Medicals again won't I? As they are only valid for a year. Do you know how much aussi passport is for baby if born on uk? Thank you
  12. Also yes my partner is an Aussie citizen and a uk citizen x
  13. Thanks for th quick replys guys. I have no Medicals to undergo I literally had absolutely everything and handed the lot over. I was only asked for a few letters of corrospondance for my partner and that was it. We had our phone interview about 4 weeks ago and we were just waiting for the yes or no really... And then this happened! I wasnt sure if putting an application on hold was possible but definitely what I was hoping for as I know I will need my mum through this bit! Also we have not hot a house in Australia yet so that too needs to be sorted. Thank you for the congratulations as I have hade none of those yet! Has been a massive shock and everyone is more like... What the he'll are you going to do?! ... Everything will work out though I'm sure. X:unsure:
  14. I have just applied for my partner visa from th uk in November and have just discovered that I am 4 weeks pregnant . I have emailed my case officer but have not heard back as of yet. It's th worst possible timing ever and I am so worried and confused about what happens next. Of anybody can give any sort of advice on this then please let me know. Will they keep visa on hold or try get me out there quicker? Can I even fly when I'm preg?! What a mess... Somebody please help with some info if they can. Thanks
  15. thanks guys, so grateful for all your replys- and sorry for not making my own thread- im new on this and dont really know how Lauren x
  16. we have done 2 statements. Does anybody know how to go about the whole "how do you support each other financially?" - we have a joint account which is seperate from the account we are paid directly into for saving reasons. and we pay rent every week which is given straight to his parents who contribuite it all to the electricity-water bills at the end of each month. Is that sufficiant enough or do they need more? Also i am lodging my application in the UK, does anyone know the processing time? any advice would be much appreciated Lauren x
  17. thank you guys so much for the speedy reply. The average processing time at the moment her in Perth WA is 9-12 months!!! - i hope it all gets pt through quickly as the cost for my partner to travel back and foth from Australia is pretty high! :chatterbox:
  18. Hi just wondering how long the processing time is taking on average for the De facto visa in the UK- i will be applying from Scotland so is my nearest office the Australia House in London??? im in Australia on a visitor visa at the moment and will be going home to lodge my application round November ( i could do it in Australia but my tourist visa has a no work condition- and i think its wise to go home for a while to earn some money while i am in processing limbo) I have my medical in 4 weeks and i have all my police clearances, stat decs and everything else done. Just a bit worried that my boyfriend and i have lived together for a year but in his parents house so we only have hand written cash receipts- has anybody had any problems with this ???? any replys would be much appreciated. it helps so much to see how other people are going with this! Thanks :arghh:

  20. thanks Susie- unfortunately for me though i do not meet the 12 month criteria while over in Thailand. i will be elegible in October....and i am hoping that i will manage to apply onshore as i feel it is far too long to be away from my partner while i am in proccessing limbo. If not however i am prepared for th worse...it looks as though its a waiting game... i am from Scotland so i think we are on good terms with the Australia , and being part of the commonwealth is also a good thing . Thanks for your reply im done worrying now its stressing me out too much im just gonna have to pray getting back into oz is a breeze... I have pratically everything put together now and ill be ready just to bang my app in as soon as it hits october. lauren x
  21. Hi, i am applying for a partner visa in October, however my visa i am on at the moment (2nd WorkingHolidayVisa) is up on the 4th August.I am going on a holiday to Thailand with my partner and to re-enter Australia at the end of August i have to apply for a visitor visa. I plan to do some more sight seeing and visit friends on my return to Australia but another reason i am re-entering is because it means i will be meeting the 12month eligibility to submit my partner visa application...does anybody see me having a problem with being granted this visa as i have already spend 2 years in th country...i am so worried i really need somebodys words of wisdom to help me out here. x
