  1. Hi All, I applied for a s175 app on 01/08/11 as a general accountant and and we received a CO in March 2012. During this time we were waiting for the arrival of our son and followed all the procedures (s1022 form) and were asked to complete medicals and police checks after the birth. So far everything is shown as finalised and received on our online application ut i was just starting to panic as we have not heard anything since. Does anyone know if am still treated as a category 4 and will get my grant any day or whether i am a category 5 and have to wait years! Any help would be much appreciated! we are hoping to move in April next year and want to start planning properly! Thanks all.
  2. I don't think it does ever show as it was never on mine, the first i heard was when i was asked to complete it yesterday. It seems to me that it is a random request, although i moved here from Kenya at the age of 3!
  3. Hi Nats, My email/pdf from the CO specifically asked for Form 80 under the CHARACTER REQUIREMENTS and police certificates. Having checked the status again online all our documents are still showing as required?! maybe my CO hasn't updated the list and yours has?! I'm confused!
  4. I have been requested to submit a Form 80, does everyone have to do this or is it a random request? For those that haven't seen it..... it's bloomin' tedious! "List the dates and countires visited in the last 10 years (inc short stays!)"........... i don't even remember what i did last week let alone the last 10 years?!
  5. Hi NatsB, Many thanks and congrats to you too.... you also applied as an accountant right? Can i asked where you got the info on the occupation being flagged? Got me a little worried now!
  6. Happy Monday All, I got me a CO this morning..... and yes you are reading right..... 1st August applicant! Wife is expecting in June so received a request for more info regarding baby's passport photo, birth cert etc after the birth so have emailed back for a little clarification as i'm a tad confused! Having read the email over and over I beleive they have asked for my police checks and Form 80 withi 28 days, and then the medicals and passport particulars of baby after the birth. "HEALTH REQUIREMENTSUndergoing the Health Assessment for your Visa Once your child is born all applicants will be required to undergo a health assessment(s) to determine if you meet the health requirement for the grant of an Australian permanent visa." Anyone else had anything similar?
  7. "Well...Hello all!! I've been sitting silent for a while now, since we received our case officer in December. In December we were requested to submit police checks and medicals, however due to the fact i was pregnant everything was put on hold till baby arrived! Pleased to inform you things are about to swing into action once again My baby boy arrived on the 11th Feb, birth certificate obtained, passport obtained, police checks obtained for hubby and I, phoning tomorrow to book medicals, uploading all documents for baby at the weekend! Excited!!! Glad to see there's still plenty of movement for everyone else xxx" hi 3pirrets2Oz, Congrats on you baby boy! I am in a similar situation in that my wife is pregnant and due in June. did you have to do anything in particular to inform your CO that you wouldn't be having the medicals until after the baby? Any help would be appreciated! Thanks
  8. Hi All, Was after a bit of help please...... I've applied on 175 visa under myself with all the points coming through me. I was wondering however how they assess my wife's english as i have read that she needs to be at a certain level. that isn't a problem in itself as she was born and raised here my only thought is what do i need to upload as proof of her language ability as i want to have everything ready for when i finally get a case officer and not be asked for more info at a later date! Thanks in advance all!
  9. [h=2]Documents showing "REQUIRED" after they have been sent[/h] HI Guys, Can someone please advise me. I am a june 2011 applicant as well and after applying online...i left it and wanted to attach the relevant documents later. By the time i got back to attach the documents, i couldnt remember the password as the password i thought it was didnt work ! so i sent all the documents to gsm.documents@immi.gov.au My worry now is that up till now, all the documents that i have sent are still showing "REQUIRED" when i went to check the status online. Is that anything to worry about ? though after i sent all the documents to the above email, i got a response saying that Thank you for your email. All documents attached to your email have now been received and will be attached to your General Skilled Migration (GSM) visa application. But my worry is that they are all still showing "required" I had the same worry but was assured by the lovely people both here and from the immi department that it will show as required until a case officer has been allocated to it and viewed them. So worry not!
  10. Hi all, A friend of mine has applied to SS as an ICT business Analyst. She has a positive skills assessment however is worried that the SS will be rejected as it has been nearly 3 months! The application has been acknowledge and no further info requested. Anyone had a similar experience and should she be worried? Many thanks.
  11. me and the other half just got back from 3 weeks around aus..... so depressed! i just want to go back! i'm glad we took the risk of applying having never been! with our first baby due in June we just want to go straight after!
  12. Morning All, firstly congrats to those that have had their grants and CO's! Things are picking up! Just need a bit of advice really, what happens if a couple get pregnant during the application process? (not done medicals yet). I think the issue would lie with not being able to do a xray and hence not being granted?! the reason i ask is that my partner and i are thinking of having a baby then moving to aus a few months after the birth. just wanted to see if this would be possible? Any help would be much appreciated! Good Luck All!
  13. Think i just found the answer on the WA website?! Darn it, was hoping for a quicker way in! Q: Can I obtain priority processing with State sponsorship if I have already applied for an Independent Skilled visa or I have been sponsored by a family member? A: Applications for permanent visas lodged before 1/7/2010 Yes. Applicants who applied for either a skilled (Residence) or skilled (Migrant) visa (subclasses 175, 176, 885 and 886) before 1 July 2010 are able to seek State sponsorship and have their application assessed on the basis of having State sponsorship. Applications for permanent visas lodged on or after 1/7/2010 No. Applicants who applied for either a Skilled (Residence) or Skilled (Migrant) visa (subclasses 175, 176, 885, 886) on or after 1 July 2010 as either an independent or family sponsored applicant cannot be assessed using a State or territory nomination under a plan. This is because it is a legislative requirement for applicants applying from 1 July 2010 to have obtained a nomination prior to lodging the visa application.
  14. Does anyone know how easy it would be for me to switch my application from s175 to s176? my thinking is that I can hopefully have my WA approved in a couple of weeks and go through that route? If i can switch that is?!
  15. I've only submitted my app online 2 weeks ago and uploaded the documents a couple of days after. Even after 2 weeks the status still says documents required?! anyone else have this? Also, I was curious to know how some people have submitted medicals and police checks without being allocated a case officer? Do i not have to wait to be asked to submit? Thanks in advance!

  17. Hi All, I've submitted my s175 application online (general accountant) and having paid, didn't upload all the documents until yesterday. Is there a way to conform that I have finished uploading or do I have to wait for them to look at it themselves? Not sure if it's just me but I keep thinking i've missed a trick somewhere?!! Does anyone know the sort of timeline/process that will follow ie does it go to a case officer next? when does this normally happen etc?! I look forward to your responses and thanks in advance!
  18. I'm still waiting on my skills assessment from ICAA and am hoping to get through on my degree as I am only part qualified. Studied accounting and finance at university, hoping my modules covered 9 of the 12 they need!! Fingers crossed.........
  19. I was hoping for something along those lines as I have the 65 points without the 5 points for working 3 years in the field. So am i right in thinking that I don't need the employment assessment? Points achieved as follows: Age: 30 IELTS: 20 Degree: 15 Total: 65 points??
  20. Hi Everyone, I submitted my skills assessment via ICAA mid June and it is still in progress. I have since heard that I also need to do a skilled employment assessment?! Can anyone tell me how true this is and if so what I need to do??? Here was me ready to submit my s175 application as soon as I received my skills assessment back!! Someone help please, panic stations at the ready! Many thanks.
