    My son returning home

He has no family of his own so is returning just as he went all those years ago. He's a simple living man and gets on with all sorts of people so I hope he will be ok. Thank you for your reply anyway.
  2. After 22 years my son is returning home to London to live. I am very happy to say the least. I hope it won't be too much of a shock. He has only been home twice in all that time.
  3. My son lives in Hobart after spending many years in Queensland. He loves the cooler weather too. He's a nature person and loves the outdoors and the green of the trees.
  4. Hi there. I am a mum who visits family in oz and i can say on the 5 times i have visited oz i prefer the short stops. Get it over and done with. I think a 2 hour stop (or round about ) is just right. Singapore Airlines is the best airline to fly with in my opinion. I hope you have a very happy new . good luck
  5. Anyone been to Forest Lake, thats another beauty spot. I was there last year while visiting my son. Its really worth a look.
  6. great pictures, the jacaranda trees always look fab. thanks for those.
  7. hi balboa, i am a parent of a child who emmigrated and i believe we should never stop our children from living their own lives even if it does mean the other side of the world. Maybe their reaction was because it was sudden and a bit of a shock. You should tell them about it now and give them chance to think about it. Maybe explain that you wants a better life for your children (or whatever reason). I think if they want to keep in touch with you they will come around to it. Good luck, hope it turns out alright.

    Really Nervous Flyer

hi Williams if you are flying alone and are really nervous, tell the airline . I am also a nervous flyer and flew with Singapore airlines. They met me at the airport and escorted me everywhere throughout my journey. Also kept an eye on me during the flight. Maybe you wouldn't like that much attention but its worth telling them anyway. Also if you have only flown to spain you will find the flight to aus much quieter and less turb. Hope this is helpful. Have a good flight.
  9. Salma - Please don't wait til your on your way to the airport. Get your husband to see his doctor and get some pills to see him through the flight. Your doctor should be able to prescribe something e.g Diazepam to help him relax for the journey. He won't prescribe many as they are supposed to be addictive. All it will do is keep him relaxed for the journey. They do not make you drowsy. Good luck.
  10. sorry to hear of your anxiety attack. I have suffered too in the past and i will tell you 'nobody ever dies of a panic attack' which may enter your mind when having one. You need to try too sit up straight and take some deep breaths for a few minutes. Also try to get someone to agree to talk to you day or night on your mobile, that also is reassuring. If you read much then when you wake up in the night just try to read a bit of a book cause if you are reading properly you will concentrate on the book and not other things. Hope this makes sence as i do these things myself. good luck with everything.
  11. This is your life, you have to live it your way. I'm sure your mother would hate to think you are unhappy about not being able to share a coffee with her. I love my son as your mother loves you but i would want him to have a good life as i'm sure your mother wants you to have too.
  12. I have flown on A380 and 777 both are very comfortable and both with singapore airlines. A380 is quieter but loved both. You can't go wrong with either. Have a great trip.
