  1. Thanks so much GilraenH, really appreciate the advice. OH doesn't have job offer yet, wanted to get registration organised first but we are hoping to go to Melbourne - does that mean that I have to put Victoria here or does it refer to the office that I want to send form to? I had heard that Darwin was taking 8 weeks which is fantastic news. Hope that I'm not sounding too thick here :-) StrawberryBlonde
  2. Hi Mansawant, Did you ever get an answer to your question - have just started completing the application and have the exact same query re Question 5. OH is a Theatre Nurse and we are looking to get APHRA registration first before hoping to secure a 457 visa. Can anyone help - this form seems so confusing and I know from reading these threads that if the form isn't completed properly then it will delay process? Cheers StrawberryBlonde
  3. Thanks a mil GilraenH - great advice, I did think that OH needed registration first so am going to crack on with that...its such a relief to know that he doesn't have to IELTS so will bypass those questions. Think I will take your advice and give either the Darwin or Adelaide offices a try as I want to get through this as quickly as possible.:biglaugh: Thanks again StrawberryBlonde
  4. Hi all, I'm a little confused now, OH is a nurse and we want to move to Melbourne, can we still sent registration to APHRA to Perth then and I thought that we had to have registration first before applying for visa...we hope to go out on a 457 visa - is this the case. Sorry for the questions, OH is hopeless at paperwork so I volunteered to do it....wish I knew what I was getting myself into :-) Last question - we have got a letter from OH's school to confirm that he was educated through English but on the APHRA reg form, Q27 asked whice language exams has he completed i.e. IELTS or OETs - thought that if we had the letter from the School then we didn't need this - so how do I respond to this question?? Any advice much appreciated?
  5. Thanks Mummy Mann & Juliag for the advice. I know that I must sound clueless...lol I am so desperate to get everything right the first time, cannot wait to leave this country behind & get to Melbourne...:-)
  6. Hi all, New to all this & am very confused !! My husband & I are looking to move to Melbourne, he is a theatre nurse and also has worked as clinical facilitator in the past. We are hoping to go out on a 457 visa. Looking at other posts, I know that he has to get his skills assessed by ANMC & get his registration from APHRA. But does he need to take the IELTS if he can get a letter from his secondary school to provide that he was educated in English? Can anyone let me know what exactly are the steps that he needs to take & in what order, he is hopeless with all this so I have volunteered to look into it....nightmare :-)
  7. Hi all, I thought that I ready somewhere that applications to ANMC could be done online and that you could scan & attach your documentation (as long as they are in colour). Is this the case or did I imagine this?? Also can you request that ANMC to forward documents to AHPRA?? Sorry for the all the questions but have just started this process and it really is very confusing..:arghh: Cheers StrawberryBlonde
  8. Thanks Petals. I'll have a wee look at the Nurses Thread & hopefully will get some answers there. StrawberryBlonde
  9. Hi there, Myself & my husband want to move to Melbourne (hopefully this year) via the Employer Sponsored route, he's a theatre nurse with over 20 years experience. We are trying to get everything in order to get his registration but am a wee bit confused . Can anyone clarify what the exact procedure is...we know that he has to get his skills assessed by ANMC but do they pass his details to AHPRA or does he have to do this after getting paperwork back from ANMC. Also at what stage does he need to take IELTS.. Sorry so many questions, any help would be much appreciated.
