Not sure not been to too many places. There is quite a cool bar down at the beach depending on if it was an afternoon or evening thing or the prince of Wales or espy? You probably know more places than me if you have any suggestions . How does that date seem ?

Just wondered how you are getting on we also want to live near city or an area with bars. We are arriving march too and just wondered if you chose an area? Where are you coming from ?

Hi guys thanks for all the responses great to hear back from so many people. We are thinking of staying around the st kilda area for the first 6 months or somewhere close to there anyone recommend any areas for us where there is still some bars and shopping maybe less of family area for now? Hard to know until we get there but sounds like lots going on around st kilda. Will def be in touch when we arrive .

Hi guys me and my husband are moving to Melbourne in march and would be great to meet up with anyone who fancies a few drinks and giving us a bit of advice. What a lovely post. Been on here the last few days reading about different things and have had lots of posts which have said how difficult it is to get an apartment without references in oz, getting work ( husband just did downundfer tradies course for plumbing and reading lots of negative stuff after paying £3000!) and lots of negative stuff really so it is so nice to hear a positive story. We leave in Feb and are a young couple who love to socialise and see good d.js too so nice to know we can still do all of that! Thanks for such a positive update xxx
