  1. Congratulations! Did you follow this link for the global feedback?
  2. Hello Everyone, I have uploaded all the required documents in my citizenship application, but still I have the message in my immi account. Is this normal? Thanks.
  3. Thank you everyone for your valuable comments and information. My mother got a 18 months visa with stay up to 12 months. I am super excited and glad. :jiggy: Waiting for my mom to join me.
  4. Thanks everyone. I will go with a holiday VISA (not a sponsored one).
  5. Thanks for the detailed information. Can you advise me (or just by chance have an idea) how much the bond would be ? I am okay to go with a bond provided it is reasonable. My mother is okay to go for a Chest X Ray. She has just turned 60 last month. Regards.
  6. Dear All, My husband and I are 190 PR holders and would like to call our parents as tourists in New South Wales soon. I understand that I/we have to file Visitor visa (subclass 600) for the same. When I fill the details of my mother and choose a family-sponsored holiday, I get below. And when I choose, a holiday, I get below. Now, both the above options are for visiting family. Which one shall I choose and so that there is a better possibility of getting a longer visa (2-3 years) with max 6 months condition. Importantly, if I go with a family-sponsored holiday, as per my understanding I need to fill Form 1419 and my mother has to fill Form 1418. Now, since she is in India and I am in Australia, how to move forward with it. Just to give a background, my mother has just retired and we have enough funds to show that she can survive here very well. Moreover, my husband is working so financially it should not be an issue. Also, we have proof for property in India which I have heard is also useful. Please help me out in this. Thanks in advance for your all your efforts in answering my queries. Regards.
  7. Hello Rupert, Well, centrelink registration thing has always been dicey for me. Can you please elaborate why it is not required for two of us ? Would it be a different scenario if we had kid(s) ? Regards.
  8. Thanks SAPcrmboyindia for the detailed information. My name is different than what it is in passport. Sorry, I could not understand the first point.
  9. Thanks, that is also on my TO DO list. We will buy two contract phones from vodafone as soon as possible. For the initial start, we do have Lebara SIM cards which currently has $ 1.5 credit each and can be charged online.
  10. Hello, I am on 190 VISA and would be reaching Sydney in second week of April with my spouse. I have read few threads and came up with below list of things, I should do as soon as possible after reaching Australia. Accommodation (I will be sharing a flat with my friend) Open a bank account (I have opened in NAB) TAX File Number -TFN (I have got one within a week) Medicare Card RTA (or NSW Photo) Card Centerlink Registration I have also listed down action items which I have already completed so that it would be helpful for others too. Please let me know if I am missing anything. Regards.
  11. Thanks. I hope someone else in a similar situation replies me.
  12. Hello Ramot, I was just curious to know that is diabetes an issue while issuing contributory parent visa. My mother is taking medicines for diabetes, thyroid, and blood pressure. Everything is controlled other than her diabetes. Its not very high, but slight above the normal range. Regards.
  13. I have few friends living there who can finalize the property on my behalf. Can this work ? Regards.
  14. Super, I didn't knew that they issue a temporary license on the spot. Regards.
  15. Thanks snifter. But, I believe having an Aus DL would take some time.
  16. Hello Jahooliab, Unfortunately, we do not have our birth certificates but have other proofs (like our educational mark sheets, Income Tax documents, Marriage Certificates, etc.) which bear our date of births. Did you got the unit when you were in UK ? Regards.
  17. Thanks for the super quick response. Will a non-Australian driving license work ? I can show funds in my NAB bank account statement. So there is no option to reserve an accommodation until we are personally there ? Not even if, I send (email / fax) them my documents ? Regards.
  18. Dear All, We are a couple having 190 VISA and are traveling to NSW (Sydney) in first week of March 2014. I have heard and read that one has to provide 100 point documents in order to secure a rented accommodation in Australia. Please help me out with the documents which are required to attain 100 points. I have tried to Google it out but different sites have different points for same document(s). For example http://www.tenancycheck.com.au/tenancy-forms/rental-application-forms.dot -- Medicare Card 20 Points http://bellerive.ljhooker.com.au/renting/rental-application-form -- Medicare Card 30 Points We only have NAB Bank Statement and Debit Cards of Australia. We had opened banks accounts when we were in Syndey last year for a week on VISA validation trip. Rest all documents (like Passport, Drivers License, Marriage Certificate, Bank Statements, Medical Insurance Cards, Credit/Debit Cards, Educational Certificates, etc) are NOT of Australia. Once we will reach there I will apply for Driving License (as I have 100 points as per this link), NSW Photo Card, and Medicare Card. Thanks in advance. Regards.
  19. Hi Rupert, You are absolutely right. I am not thinking to bring tens of thousands of dollars in cash, just AUD 2-3000 each for both of us in cash and rest I will get it transferred to my NAB account. I just wanted to check if this is permissible as per Australian norms. Regards.
  20. Dear All, I would be flying in April next year along with my spouse. Since the AUD rate is on a lower side now, I am buying some AUDs from Forex dealers. I was just interested to know about the permissible limits of cash in AUD. Thanks in advance. Regards.
  21. Thanks Silencio, I would go with option of "Multiple entry multi-year visa" as suggested by Wrussell. All I need to find out is which subclass suits me the best. Regards.
  22. Hello Wrussell, Many thanks for the quick reply. Can you please help me with the VISA subclass ? There are too many out there, I am little confused. Regards.
  23. Am I eligible for a dependent VISA ? My mother would retire next year and she would be getting some pension too. Regards.
