1. Mine was submitted on 13th Aug (received by IMMI) and I got the acknowledgment yesterday (8th Sept) approx. under 4 weeks. Cheers,
2. So after a decade, back here again but this time for my dad's 143 The paper based application was filed offshore and received at WA on 13-Aug-21, which now puts him down the looooong queue but still in queue Next updates will be once I get the acknowledgment for the paper based application.. Cheers,
3. As far as you have the proof that you did provide the documents within 28 days from the date of request, it should be fine. COs are too busy to acknowledge and confirm every email individually, I won't be surprised if you get the grant prior to any acknowledgment as of full documents been submitted.
4. Hi, I've been checking the reports on Skillselect Report section and noticed the Visa effect Date difference between 10th Feb 2014 invitations for SC 189,

2613 Software and Applications Programmers 65 31/1/2014 2.02 am

refer :http://www.immi.gov.au/skills/skillselect/index/reports/report-10022014/ Where as for 27th Jan 2014 for the same occupation ID it was 20/08/2013?

2613 Software and Applications Programmers 60 20/08/2013 11.10 pm

refer: http://www.immi.gov.au/skills/skillselect/index/reports/report-27012014/ Is that information published on DIAC website correct and does it mean they kind of wrapped up 4-5 months in a single round from Jan to Feb 2014? Thanks
5. UPDATE: Please disregard these questions as I was re-checking the EOI and found out the employment date was added as DEC 13:wacko: instead of DEC 12:daydreaming: I've updated her EOI which has put the application on today's VISA EFFECT Date i.e. 24/02/14 but oh well, atleast with 65 points now. I hope 65 points EOI should get called by next round, What an critical error by us at the time of visa expiry less than a month! Thanks
6. Hi Guys, I got couple of question where I would require suggestions regarding EOI (I'm asking these questions on behalf of my sister and her application for sub class 189) Question 1: Getting 5 points for "Australian Work Experience / Working in a closely related Skilled Occupation in Australia" Background Summary: She has already applied for EOI on 12th Feb 2014 as her ACS assessment was positive for "Developer Programmer" as Recent Graduate wanting recent Australian experience considered. She has been working part-time (20H per week) in the job role which is relevant to Developer Programmer (ACS code 261312) since 10th Dec 2012. Since 1 year of recent australian experience was included to ACS was filed on 16th DEC 2013, which makes 1 full year of part-time work experience. Confusion area: When we applied for EOI(12/02/2014) the point break down did not provide her with 5 points for "One year Australian work experience in the two years before lodging an application", therefore her total is 60 points. Shouldn't the total be inclusive of 5 points for - 1 year of australian work experience OR Does the 1 year experience starts from the date you received the ACS letter? Date of Effect 12/02/2014 20:00:47 Age 25 - 32 30 English Language Ability Proficient English - IELTS 7 or Equivalent 10 Level of educational qualification attained At least a Bachelor Degree 15 Years of experience in Nominated Occupation - in Australia within the last 10 years. Less than 1 Year 0 (This is what I'm confused for) Years of experience in a Nominated Occupation - overseas within the last 10 years. Less than 1 Year 0 Australian Study Requirement - for skilled migration Meets the Australian study requirement for skilled migration points test 5 SkillSelect Skilled - Independent (Subclass 189) (Permanent) TOTAL 60 Question 2: The visa expiry is 15/03/2014 and we were expecting, like everyone else, to see the invitation by today as it is 4th Monday of the month. Nothing received so far. In case there is no invitation on 10/03/2014 (next invitation round), we are planning to apply for Graduate Skill Visa- SC 485, which which will put Bridging Visa A in effect from the time of submission of the application. VIsa 485 grant may take time to happen, so in case we do receive an invite for EOI then she may apply for SC 189 BUT she will go on Bridging Visa C (cannot work). Right now as she has started working full time from Jan 2014: 1. she is on probation 2. with no work right, getting job back again in your own field these days it surely hard. What do you guys suggest for the issue with visa expiry? I was considering if the points were to be included and total was 65, definitely there will be some better ranking compared to when having 60 points. Is there a way to confirm the points or anyone of you have come across this scenario? Any suggestions will be appreciated. Thanks
7. Thanks mate for the reply, Yeah as I thought so, Recent Graduate does not work out as the option for sure. Meanwhile, I asked my sister to call ACS and they have confirmed that: 15th Jan 2014 onwards, work experience would be counted only after you have received the ACS assessment letter(from that date) and when she asked how bout applying for ACS assessment now, the reply was" as per now there is no such rule". Not a definite answer on whether the experience would be considered for sure or not, Has anyone applied as Recent graduate and wanting Australian Experience considered recently? Does it cater the experience likewise as it states or is there any catch that I am missing out while reading info and talking around for this option? Thanks
8. Hi All, It's been a while since I have been keeping myself up to date with ACS and Skill Migration process since I got mine done 3 years back. Now I am planning for my sister's skilled migration and I have been researching out the current application process for ACS and DIAC. My first priority is to get the ACS sorted out correctly for my sister at the first place prior to EOI(Expression of Interest) or any other Immigration process. So here is the summary and I would appreciate any suggestions and advise that you guys could help me with: She has completed her Masters recently and is waiting for the results(by next week). During her full time education, she has been working as Web Developer part-time(20 Hours per week, which is considered to be full-time for ACS assessment). I was reading through the forums and ACS website information section at http://www.acs.org.au/__data/assets/pdf_file/0020/7319/Skills-Assessment-Guidelines-for-Applicants.pdf and got myself confused with the following option: 1. Should she be applying for ACS skill assessment as "Recent Graduate" (Page 3 from the above link, where her experience won't be counted)? Where as I want her 1 year of Australian experience to be considered so that she can get herself accessed for Developer Programmer - 261312 listed under SOL List (ref: http://www.immi.gov.au/skilled/general-skilled-migration/pdf/sol.pdf) From my understanding as the above ACS website link(Page 3) states that: Recent Graduate Please Note: Your result letter for a “Recent Graduate” type application will NOT state a “Skill Level Requirement Met Date” as work experience is not required to be assessed. Where as, "Skill Level Requirement Met Date" states (Page 4 on ACS website link), 3. SKILL LEVEL REQUIREMENT MET DATE The “Skill Level Requirement Met Date” will be noted on your ACS result letter and will be determined by the outcome of the suitability criteria. All relevant work experience completed after the “Skill Level Requirement Met Date” will be considered “Skilled Employment” and eligible for points under the skilled migration points test. The work experience required to meet the suitability criteria is NOT included as “Skilled Employment” and is NOT eligible for points under the skilled migration points test. The ACS assessment process will seek to find the earliest “Skill Level Requirement Met Date” possible for each application. ===================================================== Does that mean, the Australian Work Experience gained (20H per week) while studying Masters is VOID? Henceforth the 60 Point system won't award the applicant 5 points under Skill employment section (Marked in red)? Thanks in advance guys!
9. Hi Guys. Can anyone suggest me, if I need to re-new my passport which has expired today for my Australian Citizenship(which i am planning to sit for test next month)? Although it does contain Permanent Residency Visa Stamp, but I'm wondering do I still need to renew my current country's passport for Australian Immigrant? I doubt it but still want to get suggestions. Meanwhile I would be calling Australian Immigration tomorrow for the same. Thanks!

11. CAP/CAPPED: means that you will be charged the MINIMUM until you reach that CAPPED amount. For EG: if you are on say $49 cap plan (which includes the total usage of $300), you wont be charged anything more than $49 even if your usage is up to $300 bucks. But if you exceed that CAP limit you will be charged subsequently. Also, you can keep the track of your usage(Call amount, Data usage, etc) from the mobile itself. Contract: You will be bound to pay the minimum contract monthly payment say $49 bucks(from eg above) for time period of 2 years. If you don't want to continue the service in the mid of your contract term you will have to pay the remaining installments to exit the contract. SIM Only: You need to have your own handset OR call it as BYO mobile and just pay for the usage on monthly basis(just the usage). This option also come in Pay as you go option with some service providers. where you need to keep on paying on as much as you use without any contracts(obviously you will have higher call rates as you are not in any contracts or Plans) Hope that helps!
12. 1. Click on "User CP" located on top left navigation menu. 2. On left hand side of the page, under "Settings and Option" Click Edit Signature. 3. Fill in what ever timelines you have and save. It will automatically posted with each of your posts. (you may want to copy someone's signature and edit the times accordingly to your application). Cheers!
