Plumbers thread

Hi everyone, was just wondering if there were any plumbers out there in the same situation as me? Ive managed to secure state sponsorship for Victoria and im living in the Melbourne area. So far i have not had any luck whatsoever in finding employment as a plumber. I have been here four months and despite my best efforts it appears plumbing jobs are thin on the ground. What annoys me the most is the fact that I have been sponsored by the Victorian government because there is supposed to be a shortage of plumbers!? Is there anybody out there who knows of any busy companies or better still, can anyone offer me a job? I have my provisional plumbing license and am ready to start TAFE next month to become registered. Thanks guys Chris
  3.

Help! is there anyone out there who has had a 175 visa granted having done a skills assessment shortly after lodging the application. This is my predicament and think my visa may be refused because of this. Any info much appreciated.Thanks.

  4. Hi Rafter just been reading your thread about your 175 refusal, this has now got me a bit worried as i also did my skills assessment after i applied. My application went in 30th june 2011 and i did my skills assessment on July 11th 2011. I then got my skills certificate on the 20th July 2011. I am currently waiting for a case officer and also have a migration agent on board. Has your 175 visa definetely been refused for this reason? Also do you think mine could also be refused because of this? Many thanks. Chris
  5. Lodged my application June 2011 and still waiting patiently for a case officer. However I have been told by my immigration agent that at the moment processing times for 175 visas are about 7 months.
  6.
Hello everyone, was just wondering if anyone can help as i am a bit worried about something concerning my immigraton process. Im roughly about halfway through my application for a general skilled visa as a plumber, i've passed my skills assessment and getting to the stage of the police background checks. I have a few offences dating back to 2006 which are only minor but i was in oz on a WHV from feb2009-oct2010. During which time i was arrested once by australian police for being a public nuisance, i was summonds to court and recieved a 4 month $200 good behaviour bond. I did not appear in front of the judge again and have not been in trouble since. Does anyone know if this will be on record or worse still if it will prevent me from returning to oz? Very silly i know but any information would be appreciated. Thanks

  7. Thanks a lot for that Stephen, best of luck to you mate.
