  1. Thought would like to share with all on the recent reply from ACT. I sent an email requesting to be released and few days later this is the reply to me: "The ACT will consider a request to formally release a migrant from their nomination obligations if they can demonstrate that they have made a genuine effort to settle in Canberra and secure employment. As you have not made a genuine effort, you will not be formally released. As the obligation is only a moral obligation and not a visa condition if you choose to not to meet your signed obligations, that is your decision." Hmmm....so what does this mean? Stay on or find job otherstate? Any feedback highly appreciated. Thanks.
  2. You need to inform DIAC on whatever circumstances changes you have I.e. Change of email address, employment, residential address. Put it this way, it's better to tell them everything than let them find out themselves possibly slowing down the decision making of the CO.
  3. I like the way you put it, up to 5mins out of the mind which in actual fact not even a second out of our mind. I was told that it was by random selection of the system, but again another forum states it depends on the state nominating....... And of course some said it's luck. To me regardless what you have now, a CO will definitely look into your case soon. Why I said that? From the view point of a management consultant myself, it's easier to clear off as much possible old cases under old system so as the efficiency of the processes i.e human workflow and processes on the new Skillselect system can be monitored. Imagine if a CO works on a case morning old system, and afternoon one case under Skillselect, can they be benchmarked on the efficiency of the new system? Definitely not, so henceforth I think either have a few COs under each team doing new system while the remaining old system. In summary, you will be contacted by the CO soon. Just don't think of it for next 4mins 59secs will do.:happy_face_cowboy_w
  4. Jennaire, if you are applying under 176, you need to show evidence that you can claim extra 5pts with state sponsorship. If you have not done so, better urgently email to the CO on the letter of SS from WA. Further to that, you also need to inform WA on your TRN number with DIAC when you logged your application so as they can also track the status of sponsorship given out. Only through this way, it's like a check and balance system for DIAC and WA.
  5. Hooraayyyy!!!! We have our Visa granted today!!!! this morning. I have being logging into the system like zombie day and night even on Sunday (though Immi not working). This morning when i logged in early morning, still no update yet - less than 3 hours later, it was approved and updated!............ we are so happy now......though now the start of the journey actually begins....... Next week going to the new school in my country to bridge my two boys to the Australian school system as we plan to move to ACT early Q1 next year...... We plan to make a trip there in 2-3 months time to finalise some operational matters i.e housing, schools, banking etc etc. Thanks a lot to all the support and info sharing from all you guys here. To those not yet being assigned a CO or pending grant decision - success is always through patience!! But for sure one thing, eat, dream and breathe the Immi website to keep the spirit up :angel_happy_face_ha
  6. PTobin, yours is definitely not the worst if you are to read others experience, including mine of which I will share it out when m Visa gets granted hopefully in the next few weeks (or next few days) to come. But going through the turbulence road only makes us more eager in getting to the final station right? Good work, you will here from your CO soon. Just have the habit of logging in the Immi website to check progress and good news will shine on all of us.
  7. Hi Paris, you are right to a certain extent. You don't really need a CO to tell you to do so, as long as the system states it is required through the online checking status. However as most of us are here; it is a cross-path between to speed matters up (getting the grant speed up) and monetary costing in doing such checks. Here is what you can do as per advised from my experience migration agent. As the CO are currently being assigned fast, you have the choice to wait slightly longer once lodged your application for the CO to confirm your need to do so, OR immediately book to do such once lodged. Note the validity period of the checks. Once done the medical and PCC, all you need to do is to upload the original receipts to the CO and that shall be sufficient to show you have actually complied to the requirements. Hope this helps.
  8. Jennifer and Rach, I actually asked this question before but in a different manner. Once the DIAC progress status update shows "Application is now being processed further" ..... This shows you will now have higher blood pressure due to the excitement of waiting for the final stage good news - in short it tells you a CO has being assigned. Good luck!
  9. Just to also share with all friends here, opening a banking account in OZ is easy while we are still waiting for the visa approval. We applied for one of the bank in ACT through online, and within a week they send us the welcome pack. Of course as part of the due-diligence, we have to present ourselves in any branch (in our case we did it in One of their Asia representative office) and once certified good, the money can be transferred immediately online. It helps to remit money now given that the forex is ever changing up down like roller-coster. Just thought of sharing with all from experience.
  10. Welcome on board! It's good to see so many people supporting each others on the queries, eagerness and excitement throughout the process. The waiting is sometimes painful, therefore I wish all of us will be granted the approval and make OZ our new home.
  11. It seems random on the assignment of CO based on the feedbacks read through-out the forums. I guess its the waiting that is killing all of us; just like seeing a doctor huh. Have to wait to see one, otherwise we will never know how good he/she is. Same goes here, the waiting shows how good and excited all of us eagerly to move down under.
  12. Thanks,:cute: Doing the PCC online now, loads of information to be filled up. And later tomorrow have to travel at least 40miles to submit the document, and wait for the outcome. Gooosshhhh......all the running....but definitely worth it!
  13. 82rhoads, i can share with you my assesment process. I was waiting for some time and finally after the waiting, the result came online with +ve assessment. Due to the excitement (as usual most of us , i called them up and spoke to a lady; she was very helpful indeed to speed up the courier of the original certificate to me. That was in June 2011. Btw, we have a CO now and asking for extra form - Form 1221. Spoken to my migration agent; and we are to prepare ourselves for the PCC check. Just to ask here to fellow forumers - what is in Form 1221 that is not already covered in Form 80? Can anyone enlighten me on this? Thanks.
  14. hoe5, I read it somewhere that states WA office will try to process till 30th June, but they advised a buffer of at least 6 days for processing. As such assuming that, the 'due date' could be 24th June. Hope this helps.
  15. Wow! That's superb fast. Yes I agreed with you akmirror that DIAC is also trying to beat the July 1st timeline as the new policies would possibly effect their processes already in place for some time, hence best to clear current work-flows than having two multiples flow on new system. This is very very impressive! I just told my wife on this and she is speechless, for a moment she stumbled of what to say and next she asked was: "When medical check-ups?" ................. Can't help it as she is a nurse....:cute: Thanks for the reply akmirror.
