  1. Hi, we arrived in Perth in November and have just moved to Tapping. We have a toddler boy (22 months) and are looking to meet others in a similar situation and hopefully some playmates for our little boy. Would be great to hear from anyone looking to make new friends. Lorraine
  2. Dear all, I was hoping that someone might be able to answer a query i have regarding what is meant by the DIAC requirement of recent work experience in your nominated occupation being required for 12 out of the last 24 months. Does this have to be consecutive? The reason i ask is that my wife is applying for SS to WA and has been on maternity leave since March this year. Our agent has told us that we need to get our visa application in before March 2012 due to the 12 out of 24 month rule. I have asked if this has to be consecutive or not as if it is not a requirement there is no deadline as she will be returing to work after one year and would have worked 12 out of the last 24 months at any time we apply. Hope someone can confirm that this has to be consecutive 12 months employed. Thanks.

  4. Hi all, my wife and i are thinking of applying for a state sponsored visa to ACT. My wife is an office manager and currently this is a classed as limited on the occupation list and she will have to go through the verification stage and gain acceptance even before we can lodge an application for a visa. My question is that because she works for an engineering company will this make a difference bearing in mind the kind of industry in Canberra and will this be assessed as part of the verification criteria. Any advice from personal experince or otherwise would be greatly appreciated. Simon.
