176 Visa changing states after activating visa
horbola replied to North to South's topic in Visa Chat
It is kind of unclear about the 2 years, these 2 years have to be the 1st 2 years? Cannot it be later? As PR is granted for 5 years, one can start living in a different state (where family/ friend are there to support, have a short time jobs for couple of months) and then move to the state that sponsored. I believe everyone should keep their words to the states but what happens if someone cannot be there (i.e. cannot find a job for a long time) Should not the state be more flexible for those migrants? -
Hi The amount the agency pay a contractor is after tax or before tax? If it is before tax, how to calculate the tax amount? I would really appreciate your feedback, thank you

I have a Bachelors degree on Electrical and Electronics Engineering from a Japanese university which in not on Sydney/Washington accord. And I have worked as NW engineer/systems analyst/Systems Engineer for the last 5 years and ACS gave me a positive skill assessment on 263111 for 4 years and 2 months, but they did not mention anything about my Bachelors degree on their assessment. Now, on the new point test, its says the following: ---- To claim points for a qualification obtained overseas, the qualification will need to be recognised as being of a standard comparable to the relevant Australian level qualification. Generally, applicants will be able to request an opinion on their qualification claims from the relevant assessing authority when seeking their skills assessment. For further information about this process, applicants should contact the relevant assessing authority. See: www.immi.gov.au/asri/a-z.htm -- My question is: In order to claim points on my bachelors degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering should I (1) Contact Engineer Australia? or, (2) Contact ACS and ask to evaluate my degree as they already assessed my work experience? or, re-apply to ACS to get assessed both for BSc. degree and work experience again? Guys, Am I the only one who think his case is uncommon or everybody else having non-Australian degree and work experience are facing this? Thank you so much guys, I wish you all the best.

ACS skill assessment on Systems Analyst (ANZCO: 261112) Questions

Mongobear and other valuable members: As the new point test description is out, I am facing another question, could you please advice? ACS skill assessment on Systems Analyst (ANZCO: 261112) Questions
horbola replied to horbola's topic in Visa Chat
Hi Pete, Thank you for the update and really valuable advice. Now I can see why ACS was more interested to assess as NW and Systems Engineer rather than Systems Analyst, cause in all my job descriptions, I focused that I am the one who did the problem solving. -
ACS skill assessment on Systems Analyst (ANZCO: 261112) Questions
horbola replied to horbola's topic in Visa Chat
Mongobear, Thank you so much, Your comments are very helpful and a good guidance. Now, I am re-thinking about applying for ACS assessment as Systems Analyst. Here is my case: I have completed a Bachelors degree on Electrical and Electronics Engineering (My university is not listed on the sydney/washington accord) from Japan. There were around 30% course on ICT subjects in the university(i.e. Networking, C programming, computer architecture etc.). Then I have been working for 5 years and 3 months (as of today)in 5 difefrent companies and still employed. So far my job tiles were : Network Engineer (1.5 yr), Technical Support (3 months), Global Support engineer analyst- level 2 (2.5 years), Senior systems analyst (8months), Integration Consultant (3+months and ongoing). So, I have been mainly engaged to implement application on server and workstations, troubleshooting for those software, communicating with clients to know their need and making sure development implement those functions on new builds etc. Let's see how ACS response on my 2nd application. I just got their reply and they asked me to lodge a new application and re-send all docs including the previous one I sent. I am planning to write my cv and a cover letter explaining my focus and exoerties on ICT subjects as I think I qualify (!!!) to be assessed as Systems analyst. -
