  1. This is for temp to permanent (173 to 143) applications .
  2. Oh wow!!! Any indication of how much longer ?? Do you have a case officer assigned ?
  3. ? have you been assigned a case officer or have asked to submit any more forms (medicals etc??)
  4. Hi Alan, thanks for your reply. I did email them and it definitely gave us a good indication of where the current visa processing times are upto etc.. so that was very helpful. My parents and I still need to do lots of research when it comes to buying property.. we just don’t know where to start, it’s quite daunting. Would you be able to advise where to start looking? I was hoping to find more info on this topic from this forum but no such luck so far, I’m still trying to get my head around navigating the site Thanks again, Amy
  5. Did you apply April 2015? I actually confused my dates .. my parents didn’t actually lodge their visa until March 2016 so I think we still have at least a year of waiting!!
  6. Hi, I am writing on behalf of my parents. They applied for a CPV (143) in March 2015. I just have some questions regarding this visa. i am living in Australia for 10 years and am a PR. I was just wondering when it’s likely the visa will be processed . We have used a migration agent who first said 12 months (from jan 2018) and now its gone back up to 18 months ! Has anyone got a clear idea on processing times currently ? secondky, my parents are wanting to buy a home when they’re settled here but they’ve seen somewhere that they won’t be able to own a home because of their ages (they’re 55) and apparently this means they’re exempt from getting a home loan! What have other parents of residents/citizens done when the move has been made? Mortgage or rent? They’ll be bringing roughly between $60,000 and $100,000 AUD over . Last questin is, out of the $100,000 paid to obtain the visa and become a PR, How much of this do you ‘get back?’ If any? Can you begin to obtain some Of the cost back at any point?? Medicare , medical cost etc? Just have no idea how this works!! Any other hints and tips appreciated . TIA. Amy
  7. Isabel. This is what I am trying to find out! Your response is very unhelpful!! My partner is currently working BUT is Doing his apprenticeship, he was 'on the dole' for around 7 months of the year and then we went for to the uk to take our son for 8 weeks. Previously to that he was running his own business and with she birth of our son was lucky enough to be able to take some time off as we had some savings. At this stage mum and dad coming to the uk was 'just talk' and we didn't actually believe they were seriously thinking it UNTIL we went back in November. Dice then we have come back and Adam has started his apprenteshio (I realize I didn't mention this in the first post, but I was just trying to make then oint that we had earnt hardly anything between us in the last year). basically I want to know what our options are regarding being the AOS. Do we need to look for help from family? I just want to know to explore the various options
  8. We've Just emailed them. We got a response from the 'manager' last night who said that she would be looking into it for us as we had explained that our Quiries had not been acknowledged, never mind answered! I was suggested these agents by a friend who I know from work in the uk who had (prior to having a baby) worked for them as an agent. We fully believed that they're were good agents. We were passed onto to the agent who is dealing with us now though and I Just down feel we are being treated fairly!
  9. :laugh:hello wise ones!' my parents are in the beginning stages of applying for the 143 contributory parent visa. They are using a migration agent and have so far found and paid for an agent in Brisbane and have completed the questioaire (a requirement from the agency). They want to apply for the visa by the end of March. My question is regarding the assurance of support, as I am their daughter (I will have been a permanent resident for 2 years in October this year) I will be the sponsor and the assurance of support. I have a couple of worries though. My fiancé and i had a baby in March last year and I stopped working along with my partner in February 2015 (my partner stopped in March of the same year). I have been working casually for my company from about sept but it's been very little hours, my partner has been getting paid centerlink as he took some well deserved time off after running his own business for a year so this year has not received a wage. My question is - will we still be able to be the AOS for mum and dad? And what is the 'cap' that you need to have earnt to be AOS? the migration agent was unable to give me any answers and said its all linked to centerlink.. But we all know what it's like to get any sense from them!!  any help and advise would be greatly appreciated ! amy
  10. Thanks for your hasty response! My only worry is that I will not have my PR granted by the birth (roughly April next year) dad is Ozzie citizen but I am still temp resident until they make a decision. Do you think them knowing we are pregnant speeds up the process or helps it etc? thanks!
  11. Hey everyone, i gave read read a few posts on here relating to pregnancy whilst on the defacto visa but I just wanted some advise. My partner and I sent off everything on the 1st august this year, the 10th is my nominated date so we have now done everything. On the 11th august (who could have guessed?) we found out we are around 8 weeks pregnant. I would like to inform immigration. Any advise on forms and who to contact etc? What's the normal protocol in this situation? Looking forward to your responses! amy
  12. Hello Peeps! So adam and i got our temp residency visa through in Jan (we lodged in August 2012 in NZ) and i am aware that next august they will process the PR. I just wondered what this entails? I have heard it isn;t as grueling as putting in for the first bit (all the evidence with photos, stat decs and medicals etc) i just wondered if anybody could give me a run down of what they might ask us for? Will it be a form to fill in again or just some more pics and stat decs? Also, i am going to the UK for a holiday in August..at this stage adam might not come it might just be me. Would it matter if i was in uk and ads was here in sydney (obviously he can send any info from our place if i am still away) or i could send some stuff from England? I just really have no idea what to expect? We will have been together for five and a bit years at that stage too! Whoa..time flys when your having fun!!!!! Anyone who has been through this process please advise. Thanks and merry christmas! Amy xx
  13. Shes just called, asked if i could enter australia before the end of feb, but said she will try to extend for the end of march which is when i have flights for! Said she will be in contact over the next week, this is looking very positive! I can't control myself!! hahaha!!!!
