  1. St John Bosco - Engadine which is a Catholic high school
  2. It is about being honest ! Which is what I am ! No rose tinted glasses ! Real experience !!
  3. The thread is about moving to Australia ! And giving my view on it !
  4. Not for us lived there for 3 1/2 years ! Enjoy culture being close to Europe - great beaches, amazing scenery and very special people. Weather was pretty average in Sydney ! Enjoyed the experience but there in no better place in my opinion than the Uk! Never ever went on this site before we went but not for us at the end of the day ! Australia is very insular and so isolated from the rest of the world! Just a personal a view but I would never to look to return ! GOOD EXPERIENCE but not what it is cracked up to be ! People will never admit that once there, too expensive to return !
  5. Lived there for 3 1/2 years had a good experience but I believe that the UK offers greater opportunities. We are so close to Europe & all that it offers. I never went on this forum before I went to Oz searching for answers. We are all different and come from different experiences. Been back for nearly four years now & have no regrets my children gained some good friends but they have excelled since returning!
  6. You will need to live back in the UK for three years for domestic fees and student finance.
  7. I moved five of my children ranging from 7 to 17. Two of them did no GCSE's before leaving for Oz, but on returning to the Uk are both currently in Universities. All qualifications can be recognised in the UK. High School certificate is recognised as International Baccalaureate equivalent which can convert for University entry. The only issue to consider is going to University back in the UK you need to be 3 years back in UK unless you are on a temporary visa.
  8. It was after about two years that we felt the isolation and insularity. No regrets been back in the U.K. for over three years, our five children enjoyed the experience and I' m sure will visit back one day ! We really appreciate what the uk has to offer ! Culture; history and the usual cliches of a decent pint !
  9. We used Robinsons to go out and Crown to come back.
  10. We also used Crown when we moved back. Good idea to get a couple of quotes.
  11. Following the American model and it's influence !
  12. I would stay in the UK ! It is not worth all the upheaval. I enjoyed my 3 1/2 years there but it's not what it's cracked up to be !
  13. We loved our 3 1/2 years in the shire ! Lived in Menai but children went to school in Engadine
