  1. Can anyone advise what visa identification I need to provide to the airline upon departure from the UK and also on entry to Australia?

I am flying with Emirates from the UK to Perth and I believe I need to show visa documentation to them and obviously to the border protection in Perth, WA.

All I have is the Visa Grant Letter/Notices that were triggered from the ImmiAccount system. Should I have anything else? Is there anything more formal I need to present?

When I have gone I have never shown any visa identification as it was done on the ImmiAccount and all done electronically.

What visa are you going on?

  2. I agree with that article. We are a young family with one child and our rent and council tax swallows up one of our incomes, if we both didn't work full time we couldn't live here. In our town as soon as a property comes available to rent its snapped up super quick. The property we live in is pretty terrible, it was originally a detached house but the landlord split the house in two. We have two tiny box bedrooms, stairs that are super steep as they aren't suppose to be there, the bathroom is an extension but is so small the tap has to go over the bath tub. Its a super tiny house but with a big price tag, we are close to Stansted airport. However we used to live in Leeds in Yorkshire and we had a two bedroom flat with bedrooms twice the size of our current ones and was a decent size and only cost £525 a month. Most two bedroom places in my town are £900-£1100.

My friend in Leicester keeps trying to get us to move there as its a lot cheaper, her mortgage is only £300 a month and she says rentals are cheap. (However we do not like living in a city we prefer to be within an hour of a city but not stick right in one).

  3. I got a good deal last Easter with Emirates UK-Dubai-Sydney and back, was A380 on all legs. I did like the A380 noticed it was quieter and plenty of leg room. They also had on board wifi for the majority of the route (Except over parts of the Middle East). It was I think a dollar for 500mb? Was enough for Facebook and lasted one flight. Had a big selection of movies, and the food was standard airplane food.

    Enjoy your trip!

  4. It was on the bondi to coogee walk, I get mixed up with the areas though. There's quite a few. I felt like just jumping in with my clothes on lol, it was hot and that walk was a lot longer than I remembered! Was really busy too, we couldn't believe how busy bondi was. Last time I went it was raining and pretty much empty.

Im trying to put more pictures on but they keep going upside down so I'll try again tomorrow

I must do that walk next time I am over there, last time my friends mum invited me with her walking group who often do that walk on a Saturday but I had made other plans. I probably would have jumped in with my clothes on  then people would point and laugh at me lol. I have only been Bondi once and it was a Sunday it was super busy, we got to see them film that bondi rescue program which was interesting to watch. However we all got so badly sunburnt even my Australian friends who were annoyed at their selves for getting sunburnt (Happens to me even after putting factor 50 on)

  5. Hey welcome back nice to see your thread updated :)

Where was the outdoor pool picture was it Bondi? It kind of reminds me of Deewhy beach in Sydney north shores. Hope your still enjoying yourself!

  6. This is an interesting table showing acceptance of refugees as proportion of population (right hand chart). You will see that Bulgaria is right up with the countries taking on the lion's share. Britain is way down the llst.

    http://www.economist.com/blogs/graphicdetail/2015/09/daily-chart

I agree that Poland and Hungary have not taken many refugees - but isn't it a bit hypocritical to criticise them for putting up walls and being right wing when that's exactly what you advocate for Britain?

As it goes, big business supports staying in the EU. The Prime Minister supports staying in the EU. All the main party leaders support staying in the EU. Economists support staying in the EU. Academics support staying in the EU. Lefties support staying in the EU. The financial markets support staying in the EU. All these great minds support staying in the EU - have you ever stopped to wonder how so many very intelligent people can be wrong whilst you believe you can see the truth so easily?

About the refugee issue just to raise a point why aren't Kuwait, Saubi Arabia, and United Arab Emirates which are rich middle easy countries taken 0 Refugees in, its a much safer route for refugee to go, but instead Europe is suppose to house everyone? I think it should be shared out with other countries such as those mentioned that are a lot closer. Also from an article from the Independent dated back in December 2015 only actually half who claim to be refugees from Syria are actually genuine.

You mention that intelligent people can not be wrong for staying in the EU, so are you saying the following people are not intelligent? Half the conservative MP has said they want to exit, 80 commonwealth community representatives, ex boss of bank of England. etc etc etc.

Not everybody is going to agree hence why the vote. We have paid the EU £228 billion since joining, (Received 143 billion back) but that is still a lot to just give to be in the EU. We currently need permission to trade with other countries outside the EU.

Personally I will be voting out like a huge percentage of the public. Its your choice if to vote in or out if eligible to vote.

  7. Happy Mother's Day too! My little one made me

a hamper bless her. Had breakfast out and shortly going to go for a walk as the blue skies are out even though it's freezing. Hope everyone enjoys their day!

  8. We pay £264 a month in UK and the council are about to raise it by the maximum percentage that the government allow. I do think it's fair that renters pay too though, they also use the pothole-filled roads and bin services

I wish they did fix the potholes our town has so many and even our local motorway is full of potholes. I would obviously prefer the owner to pay as we do pay the mortgage for them too. Our council tax is also raising by the maximum percentage allowed this April. :-(

Our house is super small but our house and next door used to be one house so I have a feeling myself and our neighbours are paying the rate each as it was in 1991 when it was a 3 bedroom house it is now two, 2 bedroom houses but the bedrooms are so small can't even fit a waredrobe in. So the council get the payment twice as next door pays the same.

  9. I did a camping holiday to Fort William for a week which I really enjoyed! We went to the isle of Skye for a day trip which was nice also went and saw Ben Nevis.

I also have a friend in Stirling and whenever I visit she takes me places. One trip we went to a safari park which was not to far from Stirling, also Loch Lomond, Glasgow, Edinburgh and Pitlochry. All lovely places to visit :-) hopefully going back up in the summer to visit.

    Have a a fabalous trip!

  10. I love your post Pom Queen and what you say is very true. There are always a small few who like to ruin things for others, best not to give them the attention they are after. Keep strong and carry on :cute:

  11. Hi :)

First thing is to check if your occupation or partners occupation is on either the SOL or SCOL lists and that you or your partner have enough experience. If so have a look if you would gain enough points in order to apply for a permanent visa. There is a points calculator on immigration website.

Others will be able to offer more advice. Welcome to the forums!

  12. Expensive but fun! I'll try get some pics and updates up soon. Yeah I'll have to work in the next few weeks or I'm screwed. I'm still trying to figure out wether to do farm work. I'm really not cut out for it but I'm worried that I'll regret not getting the second year

Try it even if you don't think your cut out for it, at least that way if you can't manage it you have at least tried and won't think later on what if.

Look forward to seeing some pics of your adventures

  13. I think it is because there are to many teachers? I have heard people only securing teaching roles out in the sticks and it's extremely hard in the cities due to to many applicants.

hopefully some other teachers will be able to share experience.

In regards to children they have to be fully dependent on you to be able to be included in your visa application :-(

  14. I've had exact same thing happen to me this week. Went to book flights today and they have gone up. I did a bit of research and read flights do go up at the weekend and best day normally to book is a Tuesday, so I will wait until then and try again.
