  1. Hi we shipped contents of a 2 bed apartment was about 700cub feet I think. Everything has to be wrapped up from washing machines to bed frames. I did'nt think we would have soo much but when u factor in all the stuff in the attic and bikes etc twas a fair bit. If I can help out in any way let me know.
  2. Hi Karl, My husband is in Perth at present we have pr and I am joining him 1st of June. He is a qualified Welder, Carpenter (mainly shuttering), Groundworker and has also worked as a fireman for 4 yrs. He has all his certs got WA tickets for dumpers etc and also white card etc. Has Irish police clearance and is just awaiting oz one (he has only been there 2 wks!) He has Irish HG licence as well as car licence etc. Has signed up with loads of agencies any advice? He is willing to do fifo can email you his CV if you think you can help. Thanks Sinead
  3. Hiya we are flying out on the 1st of June, had a look at crown, ace, ras etc for removals - found some of them v expensive! Are going with ACE came in at 3300 for 700 cb ft full pack and unpack only extra is $400 for customs on the other side (in Perth) Crown came in well over that amount as did the others. Have heard good reports about ace on here the odd one saying they were a bit late but everything arrived in same condition it was packed in, which in my opinion is the main thing!
  4. Try contacting these guys haganwhitebirch they are based in Perth and were conducting a recruitment drive b4 xmas in Dublin. They do recruitment for companies who then organise sponsorship if they want to employ you. They dont seem keen on us as i suppose they make there money through getting sponsorship with companies and we already had perm res although seemed keen at interview have failed to respond to our emails (sent 2 after that got the message) lol. I hope ye do get outta here tis some depressing aint it! Sinead
  5. Hi im living in Ireland too Wexford, we are heading out in June. Can be hard to get sponsorship from what I can gather unless your a specialist field. Also alot of agencies and employers seem to want you in the country before they look at you for employment. Could you not try for a state sponsored visa etc? 176 is what we got and allows us both to work and bring our daughter, plus we are not tied to any particular employer or industry which may give ye alot more scope when ye do arrive. Sinead
  6. If you are allowed to work there it should be no problem doing whatever course you want as long as you are willing to pay for them. I think if you have a HG licence from uk or Ireland you can transfer it but will 1st need to sit a text, if you dont have one you will have to do so many lessons and theory test before you apply to sit test for the licence. There is a site called blue dog training which you can go online and do white/blue card which you need to have to work on any construction sites. Hope this is of some help.
  7. You can send them to Visa Evidencing Unit Migration Branch Australian High Commission Strand London WC2B 4LA Send in a jiffy reg post with self addressed Jiffy enclosed with passports, copy of visa grant, and a letter with contact info. Ive just sent mine off.
  8. Hi we have a guy coming down from dub to wex tomorrow to give us a quote will be moving contents of a 2 bed to perth in mid april. Will let ye know how we get on.
  9. Hi My husband is a qualified Carpenter, Welder and Fireman. We are migrating in 2012 between March and May to Perth WA. Although he has not worked in mines before he has confined spaces and health and saftey qualifications etc as well has his Heavy goods licence and digger and dumper tickets. He is willing to do FIFO work, if you have any vacancies which may suit him could you please pm me. Thanks Sinead
  10. Hi Townsville bound, we are in a similar situation. We live in a 2bed rented apartment, although my husband does own half share of a house with his ex, herself and the children are living in it so wont b selling it, so have now house sale to help with the move (not that he would get much for it in todays climate) He is working im still looking for work but nothing around at present so hard to save we have one daughter 8 and he has 3 more girls who will b staying here but visiting once a year. We will b staying with family for first 5/6 weeks until we find a suitable rental and our shipping arrives. Funny enough il prob get a job in an office/admin post before he does - he is a qualified carpenter, fireman and welder and has many more talents but will still have to do courses to get tickets when we get there where as my degree is transferable. Thing is its all very uncertain as its the unknown...and until we experience it for ourselves it will remain so. I would rather say i tried it and did'nt like it and come back to a pretty similar situation we are in now than not to try it and always be wondering what if????? We both have very large families who live near or within 4/5 hrs drive of us and will miss them so much. We could start looking at the whole mortgage thing here but with nothing but cuts to employment and wages im unsure if it would be viable in the long term. I think you should do a bit more research not sure where your from but future is bleak for lots here in Ireland. We want to b able to send kids to college etc but will we b able to afford to if the economy does'nt pick up soon? Good luck deciding I hope it all works out for you and your family. Sinead
  11. I would'nt worry about it my daughters and mine went received and husbands were still req for about a week status changed then to his recieved and our were met his med status stayed the same even after we got the visa. I'd leave it for a week and then just email co to see if they have recieved them. Really looking forward to going now, looking out at the drizzly weather here i'd say at most we have had 2 weeks sunshine spread out all summer (and thats being generous!) I am a whole lot more nervous though, heading to Perth May/June less than 9 months its like being pregnant again! lol:jiggy:
  12. Well done congrat's to ye! Great to get the golden ticket
  13. Ah great, we are heading for Perth but not till May next year would love to go sooner but the child wants to make her communion here with her pals and family so may wait! Gonna b a hard 10 months esp in Winter here thinking i could be in sunny oz! lol Sinead
  14. Congrats to you where abouts are ye heading and when? Sinead
  15. Hi saz71 My husband also has 3 children here who wont b emigrating with us but are looking forward to coming over for hols! We sent in a letter stating all of this with the visa application, and did'nt have to do medicals for them even though agent advised us that we prob would have to do med and get letter from their mam. However when allocated a CO she just asked for our meds and never mentioned the lads we now have our Visa, so i would'nt worry too much about that, I know easier said than done eh! Sinead
