Emigrated to Aus in 2011.. Had a Job in Toowoomba to go to.. Just thought we would do the 2 years and move.. Still live in Toowoomba 10 years on LOVE IT!

HI we moved to Toowoomba in AUG 2011.....and we live in Highfields about 25mins North of the CBD.....it is a newish area which is developing rapidly. There are two Primary Schools and Plans just past for a High School...We have all the ammenties ....Woolies,Coles,newsagent Post office, fast food outlets ETC. There are lovely coffee and gift shops.. we enjoy living here. It takes us about 1hour 30 mins to South Bank in the city (Brisbane), 2hours to the coast (Southport beach / Surfers Paradise), 1hour and 45 mins to Movie World / wet n wild (we have annual passes for these parks and we feel we get our money worth). 2 hours to the airport to pick up and drop of our visitng guests (which we have had several even though we have only been here just over a year). our son goes to Concordia Lutheran School (private) in Toowoomba and there is a bus that picks up and drops off every day.. we are really pleased with this school even though we are not from the Lutheran Faith. HI...i,m quite sure you will need import approval for your quad as like i said it did take me at leased a couple of months for the paper work to be sorted.....unless someone on here has got approval on line? but not sure about that...

A BIG thanks to all of you here on pio.....our RSMS visa was granted on the 26/7/11 and the first thing we did was book the flights....we fly out to Brissy on the 14/8....But i could not have done it without you guys....the info and the need to just chat has been great THANKS and just hang in there it will all be worth it.....:notworthy:

Hi GTS......i,m just in the prosess of shipping my two pro karts, swiss hutless rotax. and my trailer....you DO NOT need to pay any import duties ......BUT you do need import approval. which is a pain in the butt! it takes about 2 month to get but is not complicated. It cost about $50 per kart .....and all the forms can be printed of the internet. Your shipper should put you straight on this ....i am using White & co....

Hi....i would take a hit on the rubbish exchange rate and put it in the NAB I saver account 5.85% for the first 4 month and then 4.25% onwards......just sit back and watch it grow.

Hi....we got our case officer on the 14/6/11 requesting further info...(for my non migrating daughter to have full med & police clearance) this info has now been sent. roughly how long do we expect to wait for our visa......as we are ready to go and want to book flights and ship our stuff?:wacko: Thanks for any replies........

HI we sold and moved out of our house in NOV last year ...been living with the OUTLAWS sinse ....but with the housing market the way it is ..its got to be done! HOPE to be in AUS JULY-AUG so it will all be worth it......if it was easy everybody would be their!!!!!!:laugh:

Hi paulf55......the main concern from DIACS point of view is that you stay in the REGION stated in the terms of your visa for the 2 year period ......so as long as you keep diac informed they would say just find a new employer in that REGION.. as to remove or revoke a visa under these circumstances is very doutfull......SO HAPPY DAYS:biggrin:

HI weve just done are Medicals at Manchester...two Adults and one child under 15....DR Smith was Brilliant and put everybody at ease with jokes and banter about football etc...we had a 12 o,clock appointment and was done and dusted by 1.30...the only down side.........the COST...DR Smiths cost £450......X RAYS.....£225.....yep £675 for an hour and a halfs work DEFO IN THE WRONG JOB!!!!!!:biggrin:

HI everyone my timelines are ....mechanic...interveiw 3/9/10 by phone...employer nomination received 19/12/10....lodged application 4/2/11.....meds booked for 27/5/11 decided to get my meds done before being allocated c/o due to the back log at med centres......RSMS 119 ...Parramatta.. the waiting is now killin me...just want to get over there and start my new job!:daydreaming:

Hi me my wife and son are moving to Toowoomba soon (July Aug)..i have a job waiting and would like any info....on where to live and where to avoid ? Schools.....we are thinking of the Boys grammar? We cant wait to meet new freinds and really embrace all that Toowoomba has to offer. any info at all would be really appreciated Thanks ......:wink:

Hi you can read Tonys profile on www.Bridgesrelocation.com... but i dont think there is a full website. within 2 weeks of useing tonys services i had an interveiw( over the phone) and the following week i had my contract of employment signed and sealed. Hopefully we should be gone by July......:daydreaming:

HI your quickest way is to get an employer to sponsor you......if all goes well it would have taken me about 10 month..from first having my interveiw (early morn over the phone) to HOPEFULLY getting my visa (RSMS) about july. the company i used is BRIDGES RELOCATION they so far have done more for me than any other avenue ive tried, Tony Mooney is a super guy to talk to....well worth a call ,the way they do it is to match you with an employer, then start the visa prosess. ALL this is of course at a cost ! but when its the rest of your life........well its worth it.

Hi Malt Frisky......if you have all your paper work to back up your skills i would recomend calling and speaking to BRIDGES RELOCATIONS they have companys in OZ waiting to sponsor Brits with skills and qualifictions....i had an interveiw over the phone and signed my contract of employment all within 2 weeks with BRIDGES. just waiting for a CO NOW HOPEFULLY be there for JULY.:daydreaming:

Hi Paul....well ive gone and done it! yes ive booked my meds for the end of may (Manchester) i recon that if all the info is there and my application is (decision ready) then there is no excuse but to grant me my visa!.......SOUNDS SIMPLE EH! :biggrin:
