  1. I found some in Sisters Supa IGA (or whatever it's called!) upstairs in Lakeside, Joondalup a few weeks ago. I bought a couple of boxes in case I can't find it again! I've also seen it somewhere else since, but not sure where....could have been in Sweet Safari, in Woodvale Boulevard Shopping Centre. Good luck!
  2. Hi Denni, C is a year younger than my middle one, who is currently Y6, so C will be Y5 B will be Y3, and A I'm not sure, sorry, but I think will start Kindy next year? Haven't got my head round the early years here as mine are 9,11 and 14! The school year age decider thing runs from July 1st - June 30th (so June birthdays are the youngest in the class) This might help: (ignore that it says Christchurch Grammar!) http://www.ccgs.wa.edu.au/admissions/general-information/commonly-asked-questions/school-age-calculator.pdf or the govt one: http://www.det.wa.edu.au/curriculumsupport/earlychildhood/detcms/school-support-programs/early-childhood-education/home/calculator.en?oid=Article-id-11572345 Hope this helps.
  3. We've obviously bucked the trend, and went with Vividwireless about 12 months ago. No problems, unlimited download, free calls to Aus landlines and UK landlines via VOIP, and good customer service. (Although we haven't had to use that much.) We chose Vividwireless because we didn't want to pay to get a landline connected, and originally weren't planning to stay in this rental for more than the 6 months, but went for a 24 month contract as we could just take it with us. (In Ocean Reef too.)
  4. Hi, I can't help much, I'm afraid, but I will be keeping an eye on this thread! I've been in WA for a year, and now the children are settled I really need to work, and am about to register with WACOT too. I'm in the same position - taught for 15 yrs (with breaks to have children), but all in UK, and as I understand it, we have to register as Provisional. I think that experience is taken into account as far as pay goes. From what I've read I think some form of mentoring will take place, which does kind of make sense considering the system is different, but then it does also get my back up just a tiny bit!! Good luck with it all!
  5. We hired a Corolla Sedan when we came for our reccie a couple of years ago, and also when we moved here last year - 5 of us, 5 cases and various handluggage bags, and we managed ok (think we had a couple of bags on laps whilst driving to the rental, but nothing too bad!) We booked a car from Budget at the airport for the first couple of days, and had booked one from Bayswater for after that - it wasn't too arduous to take the airport one back/pick up the Bayswater one. (The airport did try palming us off with a tiny Hyundai Getz at first - not funny after that flight! Soon sorted it though!) My other half did the trip from the airport to our rental in Mullaloo on Google map/satellite thing before we left the UK, so knew the way when we got here - I was well impressed! Good luck, and enjoy your trip.
  6. Hi. Image is in Joondalup, so not too far away, and they seem quite good. My 10 year old goes there and loves it, and they seem to have classes for little ones. Here's a link: http://www.imagemodels.com.au/news.html
  7. Firstly, apologies if this has been covered elsewhere - have had a quick look around... I'm getting increasingly confused whilst looking around all the Health Insurance websites, and panicking as 30th June approaches! Am I right in thinking that new migrants get 12 months from when they registered with Medicare before this '2% extra premium per year over 31 (30?) years old' thing kicks in? If so, I then have another 4.5 months to get my head round stuff!! It's just so confusing trying to decide whether it's worth getting, or just better to put that amount in a seperate account (knowing that at least one child is going to need braces at some point...) Thanks!:arghh:
  8. My daughter does hiphop at Image in Winton Road, Joondalup, and they've just started doing adult tap lessons. Not sure what else they do for adults, but here's a link: http://www.imagemodels.com.au/
