  1. Happy to say that our Visa was granted 2 days ago ! .................. Would not be where we are today if I hadn't done the academy 3 AQF Diploma ;-) Good luck everyone
  2. Thames Migration in Chiswick - London - I was granted my visa 2 days ago after a lot of bad advice from agents here and in OZ. Thames often do seminars with guests from the whole moving business. I guess everyone on here will promote their agents if they have been successful - but I can genuinely say that Thames are very professional and worth the fees. Good luck with it all.
  3. Wow - Congrats , Must be an amazing feeling ..........Its a long old process this with stress at every turn but we hope to have success this year as well and spend New year in Perth on a visa activation trip ....... Looking at this forum i think we are still in for a wait , the nomination stages have been very quick this week but this last bit seems to be the long wait ........Fingers x for everyone in same position as us - Good luck ;-)
  4. Cheers , see your visa has been granted - Congrats , must be a great feeling !
  5. IELTS passed THANKFULLY ! ........ Now just the long Vetassess wait to contend with ............
  6. Just found out that Proj and Program administrator has recently gone from " available " to " special consitions apply " for SA SS - .........Yet another hurdle !!! IELTS completed last Saturday , just waiting now for the results .............. Vetassess now lodged so waiting for that.........tick tock tick tock , always waiting !
  7. Wow d4ddyc001 - a very quick vetassess result ! How did you manage that ! Best i get cracking with mine asap !
  8. Hi - My wife and i recently failed a skills assessment with Vetassess due to her BTEC Level 3 Diploma being one level too low for comparison to an AQF Diploma - We read on here the recommendations for academy 3 and I signed up - Yesterday i received my certifcates for Diploma in management and am now full steam ahead for another go at passing the skills assessment. I was so impressed with the service from academy 3 ( Paul MULLER ) that i offered to share my experience on here - as its refreshing to find a company that are willing to help you through every stage and make it as painless as possible ! I spent 3 months doing a little every night to evidence my work via recognition of prior learning and passed. If anyone reading this has qualification shortfalls and one of academy3's courses could help you then i highly reccomend them - It seems a few people on here have done the same and passed their skilled assessments so fingers x it works for us this time ! Good luck everyone - If you speak to Paul MULLER at academy 3 - mention my post please ;-) ...............( Mark Garner )
  9. Dear all - Just an update that may help others of you out there - Ive just completed my Diploma in Management in 3 months and have to say that academy 3 ( Paul MULLER ) was excellent at every stage - He will look at your circumstances and taylor the course to help you in anyway he can .( Mine was hard graft for 3 montsh and have received the certificates / statement of attainment and a covering letter which i requested and he was happy to oblige ) yesterday - so in the process of re applying to Vetassess and trying again. I was so impressed with the service of acadamey 3 that i offered to put a good word on here for them . If anyone signs up with them please say hello to Paul from me so he knows I kept my promise !!! ( Mark Garner ) Cheers and good luck everyone.
  10. Hi N7kkp - Im in similiar position to you and am three quarters way through my Diploma - so very interested in your story. Did you manage to get a succesful Vetassess result ? Have to say this whole business of trying to move to OZ could finish me off !!!!
  11. Dear all - Apologies if this alreday been discussed elsewhere but have seen swome misleading information on other forums so thought id let you know ive spoken to WA Police in person this morning and they have clarified the following - (1) The current campaign to attract UK officers who are IN AUSTRALIA at the moment is targetting UK officers who are out there and you MUST HAVE 3 - 7 YEARS experience on response team in uniform. If you can make it out in September to do the assessments AND can start the academy in the New year then you should contact them quick as closing date is next Monday....... (2) They are hinting that they MAY come to London later this year to do London assessments but have stated the service limit is likely to be 3 - 7 years again. They have apparantly had problems in the past with officers of more service going over and not wanting to go back to uniform and have created a fuss that they are specialist officers etc etc. They are ONLY interested in attracting young in service officers it seems. The officer i spoke to out there said the service limit wont be flexible - If its set at 7 years then thats it ...... So as an officer with 18 years in uniform and willing to stay on team im a bit stuck ! Good luck to anyone who applies
  12. How are you finding it ? How do they teach you / assess you on the Units you have to do ?
  13. Thanks everyone - seems I will do the academy 3 diploma and just pray it's sufficient and we dont get turned down at another hurdle ! As for qualifications and to help anyone in the future - I spoke to Edexcel today and they confirmed that a LEVEL 4 BTEC is a HNC . It appears that HNC is the name Edexcel give to their Level 4 BTECs . I then spoke to City and Guilds who confirm that they are the main rivals of EDEXCEL and that their HNC equivalent is a straight forward Level 4 . Hope this helps in the future. Now my question is how did people find the telephone interview for academy 3 ? Was it a nail biting experience or relatively okay ? !
  14. It was a BTEC Level 3 National Diploma issued here in UK for Leisure studies. I believe it has to be a level 4 HNC to be equivalent but no one seems to know for sure so awaiting a reply from verassess
  15. Hi N7kkp - Thought id drop you a quick line as we have too just failed our Vetassess skills assessment by a short margin as our qualification is just below the required level for an AQF Diploma ....... very frustrating ! Have read with interest your post about Acadamy 3 and will be contacting them myself to see if there is anything we can gain under Recog of prior learning . Would you recommend them ?? Have you had a Vetassess result yet ? Have they accepted the Diploma ? Thanks Mark
