Hi Beth I will introduce you to my 14year old daughter Elle at the beach 9th November, we are originally from Warrington but moved to Perth in May from Sydney. Hi Stacey, Me and my OH had chest Xrays only, they have to be carried out by a panel doctor. Our migration agent only applied for the 457 once our X-Ray films had arrived in OZ but I am unsure if this is standard practice or not?

Hi Ash, My Electronic 457 took 6weeks from start to finish at the Sydney office.:rolleyes:

Our E457 took 6weeks from lodging, this was during the easter break and also a few days delay for further info (insurance). We fly to Sydney 12th July. Hope you are less stressed than we was waiting for the approval, that will arrive but the days just drag by.

Hi, yes we have our 457 visa. It took about 6weeks from start to finish, which also included the easter break. We hope to live at the northern beaches, Newport. My OH is the main breadwinner but I hope to work once we are all settled, I am working my notice now at a Law Office.:biggrin:

Hi Bonnie, Flying to Sydney July 12th. Your asking similar questions that I want answers to. My daughter Elle born Sep 1999 completes year6 next week (in Qatar). I presume she will have to re do some year6 work and then start high school year7 Jan 2012. Does Oz has private schools that are not catholic private schools? Like you we are on a 457 so it makes sense to send them to private school as we have to pay anyway?? :confused:

We have had different people. The last 2guys have been in for 2years, both have good jobs, have never been late with rent and by all accounts keep the house and the gardens in good condition. The house was fairly new so I told them they must not paint or put wall paper up. The house has never been empty not even for a day because as one lot left another lot went in. We pay 8%managment fees but we will have to pay more (10%) as this is very low and the agent is not willing to keep at this rate. If you have family nearby maybe they would manage it for you? :jiggy:Tracey

Hi, I have rented my house out since 2007 whilst I have been in the middles east (yes i should have sold it then when the market was still good) my mistake, live and learn, the house is fully managed by a good local agent and touch wood we have had few problems, so renting can be an option although when I land in Oz in July it means I have to rent!:rolleyes:Tracey

I would say go for it, what have you got to lose? You are financially secure, surely the move is worth the gamble. I am moving to Sydney on a 457 visa with my children and OH in July. Maybe I am less cautious than most, I am English but have lived in the Middle East since 2007 so although a resident, the realism is if I was to lose my job here my visa is cancelled and I get deported, similar to the 457 but believe in yourself, believe in the 457 that it will work for you and if not after 4years back to the UK, but surely 4years in Oz is better than none. Hi, Qatar is getting better all the time, obviously alot of construction everywhere but their are nice and interesting places to visit. My kids have enjoyed their school here and the xpats are very friendly, lots of BBQ's. Tracey

Hi Sue, We arrive July 14 from Qatar. Originally from Warrington but have spent the last 4years in the middle east. We are renting accomodation initially in Chatswood so will not be too far away for a coffee and a chat. I have 2girls aged 11 and 7. Tracey soon to be 40:jiggy:
