  1. Hi all, Just wondering can anyone offer advise on fee's and loans for either uni or tafe courses in QLD. Is there any help available for paying the fees? I have looked into youth allowance but may be just over the cut off. Might need to look at a bank loan, what way did you pay your fees? Any advise or info on this topic is appreciated. Thanks
  2. your post made me laugh..say it as it is  I do regret not going to Perth. Hopefully we will be able to get over, hoping to get a work relocation package as it will cost a small fortune to ship over and flights. We only arrived in oz in Jan so building our savings up again. Will you go back over to Perth?
  3. Hi, Just reading through these posts, WE (A FAMILY OF 5) initially were going to Perth, in the end we decided on Brisbane and suprise suprise we are now thinking of going to Perth. Like a previous post said Brisbane is very rough. It wasn't what I was expecting at all. Another big thing that we feel is missing is the beach. We are in Springfield Lakes and it's lovely but feel we are miles from everywhere. If Perth doesn't go through we will def be moving to the Bayside. We too felt that there was more to do over this side such as theme parks etc and again thats what we do as a family. We bought a yearly pass and use it often. We go to the Gold Coast quite often and would have settled there but there wasn't much work there for us. Apart from the isolation not many people have bad complaints about Perth. I know a lot of people over there and they all love it. It is a lot to think about, good luck with your decision.
  4. Hey Cal this looks great, what area of Springfield lakes is this? Didn't see this on any of my searches....Gina

  9. Thanks for this info. If we decide to bring her I will let the agent do the paper work. We only received our visa this week so the thoughts of more paper work :arghh: The more I think of it the more I think I have to bring her. It will help the girls settle in...€4000 euro..... I'd better get back to work
  10. Hi, She's a Bichon so she's quite small. I have mailed a few of the companies mentioned in previous posts so I will see what they come back with. I have two young girls that adore her so I'm starting to feel guilty about leaving her.
  11. Hi, I have just mailed this company for a quote. Regarding the paper work you did yourself, what did this involve. We are heading to Melbourne in October and I really can't imagine leaving my dog here. I will look into the costs and see if we can afford to bring her. Roughly how much are we talking about for al costs. I have read it can cost up to €4000. (we won't have that) Thanks
  12. we got our visa today...so happy the wait is finally over...18 months in total :biglaugh:
  13. Hi all, Can anyone help me with this one. We got our case officer 2 weeks ago so went ahead and booked our medicals for tomorrow assuming we would be told to get them done but no, we had to provide further docs. Our agent said we should be ok to get them done without the case officers go ahead. We decided to go with them anyway.....the problem is we dont have a referal letter. I logged onto the immi website and looked at our visa info...the medical clinic said we can print it off from there but cant find anywhere to do this, does anyone know whether this is because we havnt got the go ahead from the case officer yet? any info on this is much appriciated... Thanks
  14. Hi, I have read a few people got approved within a few days of their medicals and police checks, hope your not waiting long, we are booked in for the medicals for the end of the month just waiting on a CO, they were in touch with our agent during the week something on our application didn't add up so i'm hoping we will get our Co within the next week. Best of luck

  17. Hi, we have vic sponsorship so looking at Geelong area, we originally wanted to apply for WA, at the time we lodged our ss electricians were suspended from the skilled list, our agent suggested we apply elsewhere as we may miss out altogether, we then applies in nov for vic ss and after a very long process received sponsorship last month. our agent reccomended we stick with the vic ss that we are not under any legal obligation to go there that we can still head to wa. We need to look further into this but for the moment its vic. What about yourself, where are you heading?
  18. Hi all, Im also a may applicant, we are a priority 2, our agent told us we should expect a co in 4-5 weeks, fingers crossed. my oh is a general electrician, heading over with 3 girls 15, 7 and 4 Vic ss applied 06/11/2010, aproved ss 25/05/2011, 176 lodged 30/05/2011
  19. Hi, We are in the same situation as you, we are heading over with 3 kids too. We are awaiting our visa but looking at either Brisbane or Perth, was looking at accommodation and wondering how we would secure a home. My OH was thinking he would go over ahead of us and try sort it out, ill have a look at the holiday village, great idea. What area's are you looking at, its very hard to decide when you have to consider the schools, work, etc
