  1. I think that's a very good idea Alan, and so much more useful to have the dates of what is currently being processed. And is that 32 months or applications submitted now or does that apply to everything regardless of application date.
  2. Processing times are up.... 32 months for 173 an 143 http://www.border.gov.au/about/access-accountability/service-standards/global-visa-citizenship-processing-times
  3. Good Morning Folks, I have been watching this forum for some time, and decided to pop my bum on a seat and join you in the waiting room - well, that isn't quite accurate, I will be in the waiting room on behalf of my mom. I am in Perth, and we lodged my moms app for a 173 in December 2015 - would someone kindly add us on the 2015 list of lodgers - I think the official date was 12.12.2015. Can feel your frustrations, its all too familiar from when we were going through the visa process five years ago, and now back again for mom! But all worth it in the end. Skeelsy - I see you are also waiting on a 173, but are already in Oz - how did you go about that, and on what Visa - I would be really interested to understand that process. Thanks Lucy
  4. Hi All It looks like despite our best plans our rental wont be ready for a a week or two after our cat is released from quarantine, can anyone recommend a really good cattery in the Perth area?? Somewhere he will get spoilt! Thanks x
  5. Hi We are looking around the above areas to rent and have a cat. Seen a few pet friendly rentals which is great but I am getting myself in a bit of a muddle about whether people in the area are ok with cats? Think I am obsessing about it all at the moment, but would really appreciate any comments people have about these areas or whether you have cats in these suburbs. P.S Our cat is always in at night! Thanks
  6. Thanks NowPerth for your experience - helps put my mind at rest too. Mia - forgot to say, our cat fell into the new rules regarding the rabbies jab (thought he has got to spend an extra couple of nights in quarantine over the 30 days)and he was absolutely fine, he first went for the injection, which was no worse that his normal vaccinations and then a few weeks later he went for his bloods. He was fine and had no adverse reaction to the jab at all!
  7. Hi Mia My cat fly's in three weeks to Perth and he is my biggest worry - however I have been assured over and over again that its more stressfull for us then them! Our cat is v nervous of other people but a softie around us, but the simple fact is that both me and OH have never contemplated not taking him, where we go he goes and it will be worth it when he is lying in the sun and has a house all to himself to roam (currently living with inlaws!). We are using PetAir UK to arrange everything for us and they have been great! I wouldnt worry too much about the heat, there are long haired cats in Oz too and I am sure she will adapt pretty quick and she camnt stay in a huff with you forever - just have plenty of her fave treats ready when she gets out of quarantine! :animal-cat:
  8. Hi Manda - Your post sums up exactly how we are feeling. We fly to Perth on the 8th March, our cat on the 7th!, shippers all been and gone, party booked and I finish work in three weeks. Its been three years in the planning and for it to be finally here is a bit surreal. Like you I go from sheer terror to manic excitement! Hardest thing at the moment is knowing I am leaving my mom - she is very supportive and is already planning to come and see us later this year, but its the biggest hurdle for me. Luckily we have some friends and family in Perth, so hopefully that will help with settling in! X
  9. Hi, John Mason's are coming next week to pack up all our belongings and so I must now face the task of cleaning the endless shoes I have! What would people recommend to do the job with? Thanks:animal-cat:
  10. Hi We have recently had both Pickfords and John Masons come out to quote for shippng our stuff. Both were really professional and helpful and both have come back with a final price, after a little bit of haggling, within £10 of each other! I am just completely stuck on who to go with. Would anybody be able to offer their thoughts who has used them to help me make a decision? Thanks:err:

  12. Hi Sherbet, We have gone with the package where Petair do eveything - I am too scared of making any mistakes! We have had to fill in some basic info about Heccy, for example his microchip number, innoculations history and our personal details. We also had to send across the print out from the lab of his rabbies results. All fairly straightforward. I think the difference in cost is about £500, but dont forget if you go for the basic one, there are costs to DEFRA etc - overall you probably will save a bit, but conisdering the entire cost of this emigration lark, another £200 for peace of mind is a drop in the ocean, lol! Lucky x
  13. Heccy for short - it just suits him down to the ground, lol! Maybe they will be on the same plane - we are off to Perth too!
  14. Hi Both Just been reading your thread and our cat is flying on either the 6th or 7th March (we fly 8th March) with Petair too. Had his rabies results back fine a few weeks ago, now just waiting for the import permit! Hector is 3 years old, a real softy but very highly strung bless him! Where are you both heading? :animal-cat:
