  1. Agree with Sammy here, he needs to declare all dependents on his visa application and each dependent needs a medical. You don't have to comply, that is your choice. It won't stop him getting his visa but makes it more complicated and will lengthen his application. However, if he has a domestic violence conviction this makes his visa application a whole lot different.
  2. If it was such a positive step, why are you here on this website? Who are you trying to convince?
  3. We have been using HiFX for the last four years AUD to GBP, with no issues and comparing with other companies, at the time of transfer, we have always got the best transfer rate. I will be using them again when we are ready to transfer some GBP to AUD.
  4. I have been asking some friends what they think of prices here and the general consensus seems to be that prices dropped whilst we were away but are definitely now rising again. I don't personally know about that we can only compare to before. My car insurance in 2015 for a 5 year old Corsa is more expensive than what I paid for a 5 year old Audi A4 in 2011 (both full no claims).
  5. Just because they tell you it is nearly 0% doesn't mean it is true... If you do a little more research you will find inflation data has changed in recent years and uses CPI now rather than RPI, it is a whole new set of data and if it was still based on RPI inflation would be a lot higher and more realistic to what is really happening. As my dad once told me, don't believe everything you read in newspapers.
  6. I expect if we had the same money coming into our house here that we had in Australia, I would think it was extremely cheap here too but the reality is we had a lot more disposable cash in Australia than here and that is all I can base my comparison on but that is our personal situation and may not reflect anyone else's.
  7. We have been back in the UK since April and we find it expensive compared to 2011 (when we left) and to Australia. However, our comparison isn't on the exchange rate as we look at how many minutes/hours, etc it would take to buy an item and for us Australia was/is always cheaper.
  8. Hi, we are the same thinking of booking a Movecube but I also have some costs from Overseas Packers & Shippers which is 10m3 at $3095 and 6m3 for $2065 both include $65 for a TV box . I did contact a few others and the price was roughly the same but these claim to be the only Australian FIDI company, I haven't checked to see if that is true.
  9. If you read the first post correctly you will have read I said I would have to check mileage as I wasn't sure of it as I don't drive the car.
  10. Hi, yes it went about one hour ago, sorry about that. Thanks regarding the move, we will probably return in a couple of years. Good luck with everything. Kind regards Maria

  13. Hi, we are leaving Australia in April and are starting to sell off our furniture. The following are available now and I will keep adding more furniture as time permits. 50" Panasonic Viera plasma TV, model number on picture. Bought new just under three years ago, selling for $395. 1024 x 768 high contrast resolution. 3 hdmi, 1 SD, 2 usb and ethernet slots. Solid pine, very good quality chest of five drawers, priced at $150.
  14. Thanks, totally forgot that bit. Located in North Lakes, Qld.
  15. Hi we are leaving Australia in April and have the first of our cars up for sale. This is a Toyota Corolla, metallic blue, 2009, with just under 85,000km on the clock. It hasn't been in any accidents, no hail damage, always garages, no scratches, in beautiful condition with 4 new Bridgestone tyres and a new battery. We have priced it cheaper than anything similar on car sale websites and are wanting $10,950. We will also have a cheaper car available in late March, early April which is a Kia Rio sedan, 2004, low kms (around 110000) for year but need to check for actual kms. Very cheap to run, no accidents, no hail damage and very reliable. We will be looking at around $3,000. Picture to follow.
