Honestly I wouldnt worry about it - they took so long to get back to you. Personally I dont think the states communicate with each other much. You paid to be sponsored, so ACT got their money so their happy. Either tell them if you decide to go with SA for sponsorship, that you no longer need your sponsorship, or dont tell them and will run out after 3 months.

I dont think there is a rule that you cant apply to more than one state for sponsorship. Generally people just apply to one.

It now up to you which state you choose, Not going with ACT will have no bearing on your 176 visa application.

Even when you have your visa granted living in the state that has sponsored you is a moral obligation.

how weirds. i first applied for sponsorship to adelaide but they were taking soooo long and my 45th birthday was looming so i then aaplied to ACT and told them i had appklied already to SA. ACT approved my SS application about 11 days before my 45th Birthday so i put my 176 visa application into DIAC with sponsorship from ACT, then blow me 2 days before my 45th birthday SA also approved me!!!! I had to decline SA as didn't want to withdraw my DIAC application at such a late stage. Really happy to be goiung to ACT - seems to have it all apart from beach on doorstep. Hope this helps

With WA you have 3 months to apply for your visa after you have received SS nomination. Once you apply for your visa you update WA with TRN number, and they confirm the SS to DIAC.

 

If you dont apply for your visa within the 3 months the SS expires and you would need to re-apply.

 

Is this not the same case with ACT?

 

If you go with SA, I would just contact ACT and say that you no longer require SS from them.

Case is exactly same as you mentioned but if you remember I am scared to tell ACT of same reason as per my previous post...I signed that declaration which said have I applied to any other state...and I said no...after 2 months I did applied to SA and never updated them... I just need to know if that will have any bad impact on my SA 176 application...

Hi All

I applied for ACT state sponsorship in May 2011.. They have sponsored me this month after three months ...While I was waiting for ACT application outcome I got my new skill assessment from ACS and luckily that code was in SA SMP list... So just as a backup option (whatever) I applied for SA state sponsorship and am expecting an outcome of it this week...I did all this just to make sure I have sponsorship from at least 1 state before quotas get filled up as my past experience with SS was bad (I got rejected from Victoria after 6 months of waiting- no demand;sure waste of time).

I am waiting for SA SS outcome as personally I prefer to go to Adelaide over Canberra as Canberra has job complications( security clearance issues).

I am not sure what do I do with ACT sponsorship if I get approved from SA?

Is there any need to tell ACT CM Department that I wanna withdraw or something?

I am scared to tell them as they asked in application form "Have ya applied for SS in any other state which at that time I answered "no" but later on i did and never updated them.

Is their any need to update ACT or they gonna update DIAC or something?I am not sure what to do at this point. I am kinda worried and need help.

though ACT officers are very great and polite, just wait for few days more and you will get what you want.

Are you doing this yurself or through an agent? Either way I would contact the Business Unit and ask them if they have received all doc's and if everything is all i n order, be extremely nice, but not false. I'm sure whoever requested the doc's will get back to you.

Bud, Thanks for your moral support...Luckily I have hired a MARA agent but she said she has tracked with DHL and it is delivered. Last week she did mailed and requested ACT concerned person about the documents but even she hasn't heard anything back.Why I am concerened is today was a last day they mentioned as per their e-mail and I am still not sure what else they want I had been through Victoria before pal. Its real hell:mad:... believe me...Here is my story till now...

Feb 2010: Applied ACS

July 2010: +ve Assessment in ASCO Code 223179 (Internet/Firewall/CISSP) ( Could have launched 175 but rules changed from July 1 and Visa applications were frozen for 2 months)

Rules changed from July 1 2010

Waited for State Sponsored Lists as now occupation in SOL 4 and needed State Sponsorship

Applied Victoria State Sponsorship November 2010

Waited 5 months and all winter and spring passed with just refreshing mail everyday then 1 day

Victoria Rejected :April 2011 Reason:Eligible but NO DEMAND

ACS Reapplied:April 2011 ICT Security Specialist

ACT Sponsorship Applied :8 April 2011

ACT Closed ICT applications : July 1 2011

ACT Requested further documentation : July 17 2011

Received +ve ACS Assessment : ICT Security Specialist:July 24,2011

Hope all are doing fine... Guys ACT requested me furthur documentation on July 17,2011 which were :

• New ACS Assessment;My old code that I applied sponsorship with was ASCO 261399(nec)
  
• No more than 6 Jobs with no security clearance and australian citizenship requirements
  
• Updated bank statements for last 3 months.
  

Luckily I had my new assessment and that code ICT Security Specialist was still in ACT sponsorship list when I applied in May 2011. They closed all ICT Professionals in updated July 2011 State Sponsorship List.

I sent them the complete set of docs on 30 July.Now, It has been almost month since I haven't heard from them.They said as per official e-mail if they dont get the docs by 18th Aug 2011 they would reject me. I haven't got any acknowledgement or anything I really dont know what to do now.:arghh: Today is the D' Day and I am really worried.:cry:
