  1. I was intending on taking our car seats out when we go to Perth for our 12 month old and 5 year old. Thanks to this thread I now realise there is no point! I was trying to save money and was going to at least take the booster seat out rather than paying hefty hire charges when we hire a car. Has anyone got a link for an easy to locate store in perth that we can go to when we get there to buy a couple of seats for a reasonable amount? Thanks guys
  2. THE most important thing when letting your property is the inventory. Ask the letting agents to show you a copy of one of their inventories which should include a comprehensive condition report. I manage my own properties and also use a letting agent and the test of the agent is when a tenant moves out and a new one moves in. If the inventory and condition report is done right along with the conditions on the contracts then all should run smoothly. In response to the previous post about getting your money back from tenants that have not paid and now live in council property, forget it. I have been in this situation and after court action (which you need an agent to chase daily) and you can't get blood out of a stone. Fortunately for me I got a guarantor so I took him to court and got an 'attachment of earnings' order so am slowly but surely getting the money back out of his wages every month. Dont be afraid to ask your agent for examples of how they have dealt with issues and ensure their paperwork is watertight and ask for guarantor as a condition from your tenant. The market is buoyant at the moment so you shouldn't have a problem taking your pick of the best tenants. Hope this helps.
  3. Hiya pswebb, dont hold your breath with TRA, we lodged our application on 2nd august last year and got the decision last week! 6 months later!!!! I imagine that they might be getting quicker now as apparently the system has changed a couple of times and they were getting to grips with it. We have lodged our DIAC visa this week so waiting for a case officer which according to our agent taked 8-10 weeks. Its one big waiting game!!! Good Luck
  4. OOOOOhh TRA is getting me down! We applied to TRA in July, it was acknowledged almost immediately and approved within the month. HOWEVER, the job title was slightly different to that on the list for WA so at end of July we reapplied to change slightly (a further 600 dollars lighter), heard nothing until last week when we have been given an application number.... has anyone else applied recently and has had a faster response? It seems strange as they were so quick last time. Thanks for any help x
