i sure am, i can't believe we're going to book it all. It feels like its gone on forever, but at the same time so quick! i'm so excited god knows what i'll be like if and when we get our visa lol x

We found out because my husbands old work mate said immigration had been in contact with the company. Not sure what was said though, still good to know. Would be nice to hear something official! We just get told they're very busy because of a large amount of applicants around that time.

Really? I haven't checked it since I spoke to them. They've contacted one of my husbands old employers, so we know they're getting there. Just so frustrating not hearing from them yet!

Hi we called immigration back Thursday eve and we were told we have had a co since the 9th march. They said they will be in contact if they need more info or to sort out meds etc!

Hi, we phoned immigration as we have still not heard anything. They said the allocation timetable is only a rough guide and to basically ignore it. We were told we should get a co within 4-6 weeks so i'll let you know when we get one. Also they said we might not be told that we have a co, apparently they dont have to tell you until they need to contact you for meds etc. i did our application myself.

Hi everyone, i applied for our 176 visa on the 9th june 2011. family sponsored. just wondering if any cat 4's around the same time have received a co yet? the allocation time table says 20th june 2011 but we haven't heard anything yet. Thanks!

Hi all i have already put in my family sponsored 176, but my brother has asked me to post this question for him. He is hopeing to put in for his family sponsored 176 next year, what he wants to know is, if my dad is sponsoring me and my family can he sponsor my brother and his family also? or can he only sponsor one of us at a time? Also, he has his qualifications for his trade but he wants to know if the vetassess outcome is counted as a qualification on his visa application? i didn't think it would be but thought i would ask anyway.

Hi, i thought we should be cat 4 also. We have only lodged one application and that was as a first class welder, every thing was as it should be on the form and documents. The only thing i can think of that maybe they have done, is that even though our visa was lodged before july 1st, they took payment after july 1st, maybe they messed up and have done us on the new points?! we have 100 points for the 176 that we applied for, but under the new points we would only have 40. I've emailed them and we should get a response within 5 working days, driving me nuts not know what's going on:arghh:, thanks for your reply!

It was sent by post and we know it was lodged on the 9th of june 2011, we have spoken to them and they have confirmed the date and told us that no matter what happens it will be counted as before the 1st of july, but payment has only just been taken due to the major back log because of people trying to beat the deadline. the email i recieved today just states that we are a cat 5, i'm pretty sure its the same one everyone else seems to of recieved today. They havent sent any email confirmation of anything so far.

They defo don't make it easy for people to get out there! would be a shame for him to drop out now after waiting for so long, it may take forever but is soooo worth it in the end!:yes:

i think its just a mess up on our visa that they have done. it was lodged on the 9th june 2011 but they have only just taken payment, hope they havent done us on the new points, they shouldnt of done but you never know! pretty sure your friend would of been notified if they changed his cat group though!

Hi our family sponsored visa 176 was lodged on the 9th june 2011 but payment was only just taken a few days ago. We have just been put in cat 5 even though my husband is on the shedule 1 SOL list and was on the old one. We had 100 points which was needed for the visa. Would they of done our points based on when our visa was lodged? or would they of done the points on the new test because they took the payment after the 1st of july? i would presume it would be from the old points as that was when it was lodged, but i cannot understand why we would not be in cat 4.

wow thats not too far from where we are heading i think, we're hoping to move to a town called Gawler. My parents and brothers and sisters all live there so makes sense! pretty sure my mum and dad have mentioned hallett cove. how long have you family been out there? mine have been there for 13 years last week so i havent seen them since. the sooner we get there the better :smile:

Hi we're waiting for an email from DIAC before we decide what to do next. My husband is a first class welder and on the shedule 1 on the SOL list and our application was lodged by paper before july the 1st but have only just taken their payment, so we are not quite sure if we are in the right group. cat 4 is for occupations on that list. I think (and hope) they have made a mistake somewhere. thanks!
