Hi everyone I'm looking to ship a 30kg case from kiama back to Scotland. All clothes. Has anyone got any companies they used. We only shipped this out in sept cost abt £250 but things didn't quite go to plan so need it back thanks Lorraine

cant believe im posting again. i have just returned from a 2 week holiday in sydney with my son in which this activated his visa and allowed me to see if its somewhere were i wanted to bring up my children. after returning home from oz nearly 10years ago . we have decided to put our house back up for sale and are hooping to return to oz ...3rd time lucky fingers crossed:biggrin:!!

I dont think we would have time again here to go through processfor son's visa. i could really kick myself for not validating for year!

Hi 3 of us have perm res visa 176 which are valid until april 2014 we did go thro proccess last year for youngest but dudnt validate his visa they gave us a few mths extention but we cldnt do it in timescales so thot orginally we wld just stay in uk we have lived in oz before but obv came home and the should we shouldnt we go back as been in back of our heads for last 6 years!!! would our son not be able to go to school then on a diff visa to us ?? thanks

Hi There,long story short myself my hubby and daughter have permanent residency visa,s,however my 6 year old son has not. We went through the process and got him his visa but we just could not get to OZ to validate it , even when we got an extension we did not manage to get it done(totally sick as cost a lot of money and time and effort). What I was wondering is if any one knows if it is possible for us still to go and to get our sons visa whilst living in Australia and any ideas of the timescales. We dont want to go then have to leave because our son is only on a tourist visa or whatever type of visa he would qualify for. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

thanks for your reply its such a hard decision to make as not all of us can make it so would just be me & little 1 to validate & a big expense at that . Why do they make things so hard cheers

HI not with the childs visa they gave a year from 1st application but didnt grant until dec which only gave us 5 months we applied last may 2011 cheers

Can anyone help my 5yr son has been granted his visa dec 2011 & they have given us a 5 month deadline entry date of May 2012 to kick start this however this does not really seem possible at the min. I have emailed them & they have said you should try to stick to the entry date as they cant guarantee an extension if you miss this date. Has anyone been through this situation & if so did you get another date without having to go through it all again & re-apply for his visa ? thanks

thanks for the reply well its oz or a family holiday to portugal as cant do it all & thats when my hols are from work. i just wish I had a crystal ball but he when you read all the posts there are so many people alike. ps not all the hols are europe some are in good old UK. the flights seem to be going up by the day especially around easter time so I really need to make my mind up . i just dont want to regret my decision & we have done all the pro's & cons good & bad lists you can think off . we spent a years working visa in sydney when we were younger but so much will have changed since then. Ive set myself a deadline to decide by the end feb so clocks ticking:) cheers lorraine

its the easter holidays 6th april- 18th with emirates & thats me taking son out of school for a week they were some crazy prices but that was about the cheapest with the shortest stop over as I dont want to be sitting about airports with a 5year old

Hi not been on here for a while. quick run down We returned from perth 7years ago then applied for RRV which is valid till 2014. I applied for my youngest visa which was granted Dec2011 & they have only give us till beg May 2012 to activate his Visa. I have been looking at flights which are going to cost about £2200 just for my son & I . I was going to visit family in sydney for 10 nights . I just dont know if its worth it I have spent the last few years thinking do we go back is it a better life for the kids . We enjoyed perth but I have know got family who have went to sydney & they are getting on well. Or I am thinking Im just getting caught up with their new adventure My house has been up for sale since summer last year but no joy. We have a good life here go on holiday 4/5 times a year we both have ok paid jobs & dont really want for much. Think I am just frightened to give up the dream or do I take my son start his visa then this gives us another 2 years to do my head in until my RRV expires. I wouldnt rent my house out as hearing to many horror stories about that. Husband has been offered a job in perth but dont have the support we would have in sydney. please help so confused .....................

HI there Ozzhammer I have the other dilema we have been back 7years after only giving perth a year & packed up & left now we have applied for a visa for our youngest back in march at cost of nearly £1500 put our house up for sale april time & im still thinking should we shouldnt we it totally gets to you my o/h phrase to me "whats your heart telling you today" I could scream 1 of my best friends who also happens to be my sister in law just emmigrated to sydney in feb & now im thinking right to we give it one last go whats to loose well quite alot really:) well I hope it all works out for you's

nightmare stuff as you said we have visa's sitting here just waiting on kids one that they are telling us will take between 7-9mths a total joke but house just not selling )! depressing stuff & the markets going further & further into turmoil!

Hey guys , totally agree its such a hard decision only thing that stopping us from moving is house selling been just over a month now & I think I have asked the qestion to my OH everyday "whats your heart telling you today" its became a standing joke between us. We have already been there & back so you would think we would now better, but my aunt has just retunred yesterday from 3 month visit to sydney & said she couldnt believe the prices & she previously lived there but retired back to UK. Saying that everything in the UK is heading the same way I think you just need to way it all up , Good luck Lorraine:confused:

thanks guys we submitted them to London & both forms 40ch & 47 I think all completed so will keep ypu's informed of timescales . wee one's medical was straight forward no xrays or anything as only 4 good luck L:biggrin:

Our Youngest had medical yesterday & both police clearance's in Visa application sent today anyone any idea's on the timescales for kids visa?.. Then all that has to be done to send us on our merry way is the house to sell!:err:
