  1. Got the visa grant earlier today. :jiggy:Hang in there everyone waiting - I don't even remember what yesterday, while I was waiting, felt like.
  2. We got the last of our medicals finalized on 23rd Jan that were referred on 15th Oct. Technically everything is MET but no Visa yet. Fingers crossed, hope it comes along this week.
  3. Department of Immigration and Citizenship (www.immi.gov.au)
  4. Mate, I believe the appropriate one would be Form 929 - Change of address and/or passport details I needed to do the same a few months back and also had to update details of my newborn. I sent in a notification of change in circumstances(Form 1022) thinking that it'd satisfy both details to be updated. Our newborn was added to the application and I thought my passport details had been updated as well, until one fine day(about a month afterwards) I bumped into a post on another thread where someone mentioned Form 929 to update passport details. I immediately sent one in and it was only then that the online tracker voided my previous passport number and updated to my new one. All that while I wasn't told(not implying that its DIAC's or CO's responsibility) by the Dept. MORAL: DIAC is particular about acknowledging and registering info sent to them only when the appropriate supportive documentation is present.
  5. Sorry to hear about the revelation. You might want to take a look at Overview of the Health Requirement & Fact Sheet 22 - The Health Requirement Unfortunately, there is zero-tolerance for TB until the applicant(s) are cleared. I have no idea if your application can be deferred till then(9-10 months). I also have no idea if a dependent can be dropped from the application at this stage(MEDs) but I think that might be the only plausible option towards a positive outcome given the change in circumstances. I hope someone else who's gone through or knows about someone who's gone through something similar might be able to shed more light. Good Luck :wubclub:
  6. Sorry to hear, it can be very demotivating. Yup, yeah you're right. I'd assume stating the reason for the refusal is a norm. Given the fact that you actually paid for this, you have the right to know why you were turned down. Btw I was rejected by VIC cause I didn't have specific experience with regards to the Chemists they needed. SA on the other hand needed my type. Nonetheless, you've taken the bold step of initiating the process, hang in there mate. Good luck:wubclub:
  7. Wow, talk about being on the wrong side of subjectivity! I withdraw my earlier suggestion to retake the test in favor of gjg's comment & suggestion to go for a remark. Thanks for pitching in with your experience gjg
  8. I can feel your pain Charl. Yes, I did contest my result. I needed at least 7 across all categories and ended up with a dismal 6.5 in speaking(the others L/R/W 9/9/7). Didn't have it in me to sit the test again so I contested the result(EOR) and ended up with with the coveted "7" apart from getting a refund for the EOR fee. That's my story, but IMO the odds of getting a favorable 1 band remark would be quite slim. With you being a native English speaker I'd suggest you retake it rather than wait for another agonizing month at least to get the final verdict. Good luck :wubclub:

    Help Please

Hi Robert, You can try this link http://www.immi.gov.au/visawizard/'>http://www.immi.gov.au/visawizard/ to find the options you guys might have. The Dept. of Immigration & Citizenship(DIAC) is the concerned authority and you'll find comprehensive details on their website http://www.immi.gov.au I know its pretty broad but I hope it gives you the end of the thread you're looking for. Good luck! :wubclub:

    IELTS remark

Got my 6.5 in Speaking remarked to a 7 that gave me an overall 8 band with 7, 9 & 9 in Writing, Reading & Listening respectively. The overall didn't matter, I needed min 7's in all to claim 10 points in the points test. Took about six weeks for the review outcome with the fee refund. Good luck with your OH's remark. :wubclub:
  11. Apologies for the massive oversight on my part. Dearly sorry.
  12. Thanks for the correction wrussell! What a blunder! Totally ZOKNED here. Extremely sorry for my earlier comment samadini. 4.5 on average is totally acceptable. You can have two 9's and two 0's and then you can piss off to the pub(~wrussell)
  13. No. They're not concerned with the averages for any of the IELTS threshold scores that I've come across. It should be 4.5 in each, at least. You can get an score of 4.5 with two 4's and two 5's but it would be an unacceptable outcome as you need 4.5 in each. I hope you get the picture.
  14. They need to demonstrate a "Functional" level of Enlish skill that corresponds to "at least four and a half (4.5) based on all four components" (Source:English Requirements for Secondary Applicants) Ali:wubclub:
  15. You really have been blown away. First time seeing :Randy-git:being used! ROFLOL Have a great time "DOWN UNDER"!
  16. Good luck with your application. :wubclub:
  17. Exactly what I had in mind.... Nevertheless, you can write EXACT DETAILS UNKNOWN or ESTRANGED like Chardy mentioned if there is no way of finding out the details and all contact has been lost. I've read about former spouses refusing to cooperate in providing details and other requirements. Its a real world and encountering cases like yours would in fact be normal for the DIAC. Good luck with your application. :wubclub:
  18. Don't see why an inter-cast marriage could be a problem. Is it that you are, perhaps, separated or divorced? Can't see any other reason that might lead to a loss of contact.
  19. Ditto littlesarah. Its an open forum and like most places in the world you're free to express here. wrussell and countless other members here are just trying to help others out with their professional expertise and experiences. Following suggestions is totally the readers' discretion. I have benefited TONS from PIO and have found it to be a virtual home away from home. You'll always find compassionate people here, sometimes all that one needs.
  20. Oh! In that case maybe it would be better to contact the Singaporean Police Authorities and explain them your situation, maybe they could guide you to other departments in Oz that are recognized by them. Just in case you don't get a tip from them the plausible way out might contacting a Notary who can bear witness to you having done your fingerprints in his/her presence i.e. submit a Statutory Document. :wubclub:
  21. Why don't you just go down to the supermarket, buy a stamp pad, practice a little bit and do it yourself? :v_SPIN:
  22. The DIAC's heading for a hole with this policy. Locals come first anywhere in the world.
  23. I guess The Guy up there just knows how much each person can handle. Good on you mate! :wubclub:
