  1. Hi all, Can anyone tell me please, for the purposes of the Vetassess form and Visa and achieving the maximum points, is a Stat Dec and P60 sufficient evidence of employment. Some of the companies I have worked for over the 10 year period have since ceased trading, bought out and relocated so I am unable to get statements from them and I am concerned that without full statements from these employers, that I will be unable to receive maximum points. Any advice greatly appreciated, thank you
  2. Hi, sorry to butt in but I was wondering if you could offer a little advice please, relevant to the Vetassess application. I am a Metal Fabricator and therefore lodging the form as such, I have been employed by the same firm for the past 4 years, prior to that, I worked in Oz and NZ on a working holiday Visa for which I have no evidence and prior to that, the companies I worked for in the UK have closed. I have been in the trade for 15 years. I have done the 4 year apprenticeship and am able to supply all the certification for this and have all the syllabus info etc. I have a detailed reference and statement from my current employer etc, all in all the evidence I can supply is pretty detailed. My concern is that I do only have info for my current employer and the apprenticeship that I did all those years ago, with nothing in between. Do you think this will reflect badly on my application? (I have already submitted online the Vetassess application and am now compliling all the evidence to send to them). Any help and advice is greatly appreciated. Many thanks, Allan
  3. Hi all again. A little help with the TRA please. I have been employed full-time by the same company for the past 4 years. Do I therefore only need to list this job on the TRA and get a statement from only them? There is obviously the option to add many more jobs on the form and I have almost 15 years work experience in my trade but obtaining statements from all of them would be very difficult, some companies have closed and others are in Australia and I only worked there for short periods whilst on a working visa. Being as the TRA costs $300 I really only want to send it the once! Thanks all, Allan
  4. Hello all, I am a 33 year old welder fabricator, myself, may partner, our daughter and my partner's daughter are looking to apply for a 190 Visa, initially we thought about a 189 Visa, but if the application is successful, we plan on living in WA (Perth) anyway and the 190 Visa offers 5 more points so this is the one we are going for. We have completed TRA form and it's ready to go. However, looking at the guidelines, it says not to send it until you have completed the skillselect points test. We have completed the EOI but it tells me that it was unsuccessful because ultimately there was not enough points. Having an approved TRA and completed and passed ILETS test would obviously increase the points, giving me enough to pass the EOI. Is it therefore ok to send the TRA off before doing the ILETS test and having not passed the EOI? Also, how long is the TRA valid for once it is approved (hopefully)? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Allan

    EOI Query

Great, thank you very much for your advice. I hope withdrawing the initial application won't affect any future ones.

    EOI Query

(Hi, I have also posted this thread on the Poms in Perth sister site, so apologies to anyone reading this twice!) Hi all, My partner is a Welder/Fabricator and we tried to get the ball rolling yesterday to hopefully move to Perth. He completed the EOI in respect of a Subclass 189 Visa (Skilled, independent, permanent) with the intention that myself (we are engaged), our daughter together and my daughter from a previous marriage come out on his Visa. He has experience of working on the mines in Oz 5 years ago so he meets the requirements with regard to his qualifications. These are obviously UK qualifications however, does he need to do some form of test to translate these into Australian equivalent in order to pass the EOI and have his details considered for a Skills Select Visa application? The reason I ask is because having completed the form (no payment was made), we were simply told that he does not meet the requirements at this time and that we could update the form at any time as it would be kept on file for 2 years. His nominated occupation is Metal Fabricator and when asked "Does the client have a skills assessment from the relevant assessing authority?" we posted "No" - how do we get this assessment? We have obviously tried the links from the page from can't seem to find any form to complete etc. Any help and advice would be greatly appreciated please. Thank you very much. Bob
  7. Thank you, it's good to know we don't need to be married, we were hoping not to do a quick registry office thing, hopefully we'll be able to make our wedding part of our send off to Oz. We should hopefully be able to avoid the Courts too, hopefully with my 10 year old fully behind the move, her father will see that it's what's best for her - hopefully! Thanks again for your quick reply, I will have a look into the companies available, I agree, we wont just go for the cheapest.
  8. Hi all! Can anyone please recommend a reasonably priced company to help with our Visa application. We think we may need help as our situation is not straight forward. My parter and I are engaged but not yet married, we have a 15 month old daughter together and I have a 10 year old daughter from a previous marriage. Obviously we plan to get married but would it make the application more straight forward if we married before making the application? Or, does the fact that we have a daughter together simplify things anyone? Also, there is obviously also the issue of obtaining permission from the father of my eldest daughter. We would be going out on my partner's Visa, he is a plater/welder and has worked in Oz before so knows what to expect in that respect. Any advice or help would be greatly appreciated - any rough idea of how much help with the Visa application costs would also be appreciated. Thank you very much!! Roberta, Allan and girls

  10. Hi, Sorry to hear your ex is being difficult, I really hope it all works out for you. We haven't even broached it with my ex yet but I know he's going to be difficult which is why I hoped my daughter would be all for it. I think he would struggle to say no if she asked him direct to let her go. I'm hoping that the Court would be on our side in anycase, he's got a bit of a checkered past with drink etc so the best place for her would be with us in Oz. Good luck with your ex. Roberta
  11. Thanks for your reply. Enrolling to Brownies is a brilliant idea, something I certainly hadn't thought about and will now look in to. I know that she would be very happy out there so fingers crossed we can talk her talk her round to the idea so that we can avoid the Courts but if needs must, it may have to be the route we go down. Thanks again, Roberta:smile:
  12. Hello all, I'm hoping that someone can give me some advice please. My partner and I have been talking very seriously about moving to Perth. He is a Welder and has worked out there before and receives numerous job offers from company's he worked for out there. We have a 4 month old daughter together and I have a 9 year daughter from a previous marriage. Obviously the current state of the economy in this country is a massive pull to Australia. We know people in Perth and on looking on job sites, there are an abundance of job opportunities for my partner out there and in that respect know that it would not be a problem finding work. The friends we know out there could also advise on buying a home, schooling etc and speak very highly of the area they live in. The main issue we have is obtaining the permission from my 9 year old daughter's father. He sees her 2 nights a week a spends basically Sunday afternoons with her. My daughter is not thrilled at the prospect of leaving family and friends behind to move to the other side of the world but we know that we could have a far better quality of life in Oz and it would be the best for all of us. She is a confident little girl and we know that she would make friends very easily and would ultimately be very happy out there, we wouldn't make the move if for a minute we thought anyone of us would hate it. We don't think my ex will give permission for us to move her abroad without her being 100% for it herself. Has anyone had any experience with the Courts in this respect? We are aware that we need to provide them with research into schools, property etc, which we will of course do, but would like to know how people have found this process - outcomes etc. Thanks in advance for your help :cute:
