Hey all, my 857 was granted on Thursday. Relived and very happy. I applied 28th June, decision ready in Perth and from low risk country. Hang in there everybody, your time will come. I might even grow a mullet. Nah, sod that.

Hi all, had some news re my application. A case officer was assigned on Monday and the business nomination approved. Fingers crossed I have a decision soon. Hang in there everyone who is still waiting, it will happen.

I didnt get her name i'm afraid. those were her words though, 'not stamped by processing manager which would suggest non drc' I'm waiting for a reply from my MA.

I submitted end of june in perth. Getting conflicts from agent and diac but tend to believe diac. They have said the same to me that they cannot tell me drc or non drc. Although the lady at diac said my casefile 'suggests' it isnt drc as it would have been stamped by the processing manager by now. A shambles, especially the fact that you are not informed of status.

I just have and was told that my application either hasn't been processed or wasn't decision ready (even if the agent says it was) either way diac wouldnt contact the agent, they would just stick it in the pipeline and you waiting in vain. Hope it's good news for you, dont think it is for me.

I dont know. Just saw it and thought it'd be of interest. At the end of the day you can have all the info you want/require, but the decision will be made when diac has come to a decision. A law to themselves i suspect.

my migration agent suggested the same, ie, no CO just a decision. From that do i assume we'll get a decision around end of October? i've no idea of the timelines to be fair. I also submitted at Perth.

Timeline. DRC ens rsms applied, 28th june Ack letter 20 july nothing since. From reading above i hope to have a CO in 1-4 weeks. I'm sick of all the abbreviations!

All the info above will help but i've found too much info makes everything cloudy. I would advise you pay an agent and have a consultation with them. You WILL get the correct info then. Dont forget they will try the hard sell to buy their product also but after your meeting your head will be clearer. Just a thought.

Hi all, i'm coming over at long last this month and my family comes out end of november. I need some serious advice regards state primary schools. i'm working in Medina and i'm thinking of looking for a rented house in Rockingham/safety bay/cooloongup area. My daughter is 9 and obviously it's imperitive i make the right decisions for her. Any advice would be welcomed.

I'm no expert so dont take this as gospel, but the 457 police check is only for the applicant, the other person would be allowed entry on your visa. As for the PR application i wouldn't see any problems with not having declared as you dont have to. Also a caution is not seen as a criminal record as such, so very very much doubt it would matter.

Hi All, does anyone know of pipe fitter vacancies in Perth? I've got a 457 but the company i'm supposed to be going to work for are giving me the serious runaround. I need to get over to perth sharpish. This nice weather in the uk is making me think twice, not good. Thanks for any help people.

I had same problem, got arrested in2001, wont mention the offence. Make sure you declare it because your ACRO (required for 457) WILL reveal it. 100% it makes no difference to your application. Mine was passed by he way.

If you take the plunge and like it, great. If you take the plunge and dont like it, go home, you'll still be a draughtsman. Cant lose.

Hi All, need a little assistance. I'm due over to Perth in March '11 on a 457. Can anybody recommend a health insurance scheme for me, also my partner and daughter are (hopefully) coming out a little later so would need to include them. Thanks for any advice. P.S. Will my mobile phone work with an aussie sim card, it's a quite new model on tesco (O2 network), 3g and all the gizmos on it. Needs unlocking though.

Hi Edd, i replied to earlier post with copy of industry partners e-mail. As it says i've been offered a job, same deal as you. Im a pipe fitter, have you been told where the job is exactly, ie perth, kalgoorlie, karratha? Seems were in the same situ.

Hi Eddwillwll, I'm in the uk, saw the industry partners advert online and replied. I got the same reply as you. I went down to Kent for an interview and was offered a job. I'm a pipie by the way. As of now (8dec) i'm waiting on them to send me a contract to sign and return to start the visa process. The guys doing the interview seemed genuine, didnt ask for any money up front so i'm waiting on them to get back to me. Get back in touch and we'll discuss it. I dont see mention of work being in Perth anywhere though? My thoughts is Karratha LNG which doesn't look too good.
