  1. Hi guys. I apologise for the late reply as I got caught up with work the last few days. Thank you very much for all your replies. It's been helpful and provided me with what I have decided to do.
  2. I have just checked with the DIAC visa wizard function on their website. Sadly, I am not qualified for any permanent resident visa as rules toughened up. However, I am interested in being nominated and sponsored by employer, Employer Nomination Scheme (subclass 186) visa. It says that I need to be offered full time employment with that employer for a minimum of two years. I also do not have prior relevant experience. Can I still apply for that?
  3. Hi there, I am currently residing in Australia on a 485 temporary residency visa and this current visa is expiring in December 2013. I was an international student from 2007 to 2011. I studied Bachelor of Business, majoring in Economics and Finance. After graduation back on December 2011, I immediately occupied myself with a casual/part-time job and have been working consistently on a casual basis but close to a full-timer (5 to 6 days a week) at a local karaoke bar. Due to my relationship with the company, colleagues and some of the most amazing people I have met, I have been committed to working there for one and half year. I decided that it was time for me to venture out and pursue something even more deservedly as I am a degree holder - a full-time job in the field of my studies and applying for a permanent residency visa as I have nothing but love for Australia. However, the migration rules have toughened up and I am concerned that I may not be able to qualify for a permanent residency visa as the occupations involving economics and finance all round are not in the SOL list. I wish to settle in Australia and also have plans for citizenship should everything go smoothly. Is there any other way that I could possibly do to apply for a PR visa? Mundane.
  4. Hi there, I am currently residing in Australia on a 485 temporary residency visa and have been working on a casual basis at a local karaoke bar ever since graduation. This job is casual and not employed as a part/full-timer and I have been working about 5 to 6 days a week for nearly a year. However, I have been hearing about how income earners need to file tax returns and in my case, I am a little concerned. As a temporary resident in Australia and also working as a casual, do I need to file/lodge any tax returns as well? Who does tax returns apply to? Also, I have applied my tax file number and given to my employer. Mundane.
