  1. OK FOLKS....... Finally Finally PR granted today at lunchtime!! im weak, weary and happy all at once! Our portion of the application was submitted 16th April, SO 12.5 weeks until today. I know its been said before, and its frustrating, but DO hang in there, i so know the waiting and waiting is agony. I promise itll be over soon! We are dizzy with disbelief! PS no Form 80's asked for and NO crim record check asked for my 16yr old daughter, even though it just arrived back today also in the mail!
  2. I had a suspicion I had heard this somewhere before which was not only why i asked but also why i have delayed putting pen to paper! very lazy! I have them printed out.... for weeks now! Meds and police checks done and added to application, so will just sit tight wait and see!!
  3. Can anyone tell me are form 80s 100% definitely needed or just sometimes requested? Before I go to hassle of filling them out in advance. I everything else frontloaded thus far. Waiting waiting....
  4. Hi, We just got an email once our employer had a case officer (after 12 weeks) asking for a bit of extra info, then the nomination was approved about a week later. We submitted ours 1 week after nomination approval. FIngers X please that we hear of a case officer soon! Im assuming Form 80's are totally mandatory for everyone? I have mine printed but as yet have not tackled filling them in. Cant wait!!
  5. Oh FAMILY OF FIVE and Joel9271 tell us some good news!! Argghhhh so I see my theory if roughly 10 weeks for proceseing employee portion is not an exact science ha ha although I still live in hope. I am aware that since xmas decision ready no longer exists we are all just in the same big queue oh joy! We waited for our employer part to get approval first before forfitting our 9k! And so our part is now in from 16th april, 7 weeks! NOT so patiently waiting and out employer part took 12 weeks to get a case officer and was approved a week later or slightly less. Yawnnnnn!!
  6. Well Paisleylass super well done how chuffed are you?!!! Im chuffed for you, because right now i just needed some good news, so i see from your submission date yours is in approx 10weeks? so my theory of the list being addressed after 10weeks seems to be the case again! The fact that i might just have another 3 to wait gives me some hope. Our police checks are long back and medicals done, you just photocopy the bio-data page of your passports and as for who signs it some random cop at the local police station signed ours and it was never questioned!! I see you are in Brisbane? We are moving there in Sept! cannot wait! Keep her lit and keep me posted! Karen:laugh:
  7. ANYONE recently got any grants?? Going out off my tiny mind off course like the rest of you! our portion of the 186 transition was lodged 7 weeks ago this wednesday coming. Im bargaining on a turn around of about 10 weeks from the couple of recent grants on this thread, but who knows!!??
  8. Thankyou so much "ldticp" for your reply, good i have somewhere to start with for homework now, always better to get a recommendation. Are you in Ferny Hills yourself and how do you find it as an area to live?

  10. Hi, hoping to move from Melbourne to QLD around Aug or Sept 2014 and focusing on the Ferny Hills/The Gap or possibly Samford valley areas, will be requiring a good Kindergarten, a state primary school and a state secondary school for the 4 girls of various ages, can anyone help or guide me in the right direction as at least 2/3 kinder/primary/secondary schools might dictate which area we narrow our search for a rental in initially? Many thanks in advance:wub:
  11. Thankyou for the helpful reply, yes , we were considering waiting until the two year anniversary which would be October. Otherwise though do you have any idea of TRA current processing timescales? I looked online but to no avail, as this would determine if we were best to wait.
  12. Hi all,i'm desperately seeking some advice, really about to ring mimi but thought i'd try here first. My hubby had his priori learning (18yrs solid plasterer) recognised two years ago by Queensland Master builders (an approved RTO) and received an AQF3 for his trade. We are on a 457 18months now and really want to go Directory entry 186 but it states you must have a positive skills assessment. The TRA website and their streams are as clear as mud. Would the Queensland master builders RTO who certified him be classed as a skills assessment or must he complete a TRA set of hurdles too? Thanks in advance everyone!
  13. We are planning on returning home and I have been quoted $3500 to move my daughters cat from Melbourne to Northern Ireland!!! Tell me there may be some more competitively priced companies than this?? ANyone recommend any names of animal handlers I could try, pleeaase. Thanks in advance
  14. Hi there.. I have just seen your post from January.. we are ourselves on a 457 last six months and in Melbourne, but looking a move on a PR visa to Perth.. my other half is a solid plasterer/renderer. Did you get sorted out with a visa? To be honest are looking for some plastering contacts in any of WA that might.. RSMS PR sponsor my partner..maybe you could inbox me if you can be of any help
  15. Hey all just putting the feelers out there for any advice. We are in Melbourne for 6 months on a 457, but were hoping once partner had the adequate 12/24 months worked up to sit the TRA that we would then ask his employer to PR employer Sponsor him. Now all changes in July and you have to give 2 years to employer on 457 before PR Employer sponsorship!!! ARghhh... :twitcy: So question is this,, without having to give a further 18 moths to employer, (not eligible to sit TRA at this time minus the full 12/24 months work) could RSMS be a serious possibility for us? We are hoping to go to WA anyway, and so I am looking at the criteria for RSMS and see no mention of TRA, just that the relevant assessing body has to OK the nominee (He has his AQF3 in solid plastering already). Could it really all be soo simple?? providing we can find a plastering/rendering company in WA willing to PR sponsor him under the RSMS?? Any advice appreciated folks, and thanks in advance. Karen
