Hi, We are hoping to make the move out to Melbourne next year. We already have our visas in place having moved to Sydney in 2011 and then returning to the UK. At the moment we are trying to look into affordability, and the first part of this is identifying areas we could live in order to price it up. Ideally we are after an area that is close to the beach, commutable to the CBD and has good schools (we have 4 kids who will be 10, 8, 6 and 5 when we plan to move). We have been been looking at the Chelsea/Edithvale/Aspendale area. Does anyone on here know this area? Would it fit the bill for what we are looking for? Many thanks, John

Hi All, A bit of a specific query here, that I'm hoping someone can help with. My family and I have a 175 visa granted in December 2010. In March 2011 we moved to Sydney, however, for one reason and another, the time was not right for us, and we returned to the UK in June of the same year. We are now starting to think about the possibility of returning to Oz, and are exploring our options. I'm hoping someone can help with these questions. If any more info is needed, please let me know. 1. Does our short stay in 2011 act as activation of our visa? 2. Does this mean we are free to return to Oz, with no additional paperwork required, up until the visa expires in December 2015? 3. If we enter before this date, what happens when the visa expires, assuming we have not been there long enough to apply for citizenship? I assume we still have right to stay, as the visa says right to remain indefinitely? I'm a bit confused by the implications of the visa expiry date. 4. If we don't enter before the visa expires, do we have to go through the whole visa application process again? Many thanks, John

Hi, Can anyone advise how healthcare works between arrival and registering for Medicare? ie if one of the kids gets ill and needs to see a dr, what do we do? Also, according to the Medicare website, we should wait 7-10 days before registering. Have others done this, or is it possible to register immediately? Thanks, John

Hi, We're moving to Sydney at the end of March with our 4 young children. Can anyone tell me anything about Bella Vista@? Is it a nice area to bring up kids? Also, what is the commute to the CBD like? According to 131500.com it's just over an hour. Is this accurate? Many thanks, John

Hi all, A bit of advice needed please!! Am planning to move out to Sydney next March with my wife and 4 young kids. We've been focussing our housing search on Sutherland shire, as this was recommend by a few people, but now want to check out a few alternatives. We're looking for an area where we can get a 3 or 4 bed rental for up to $800 per week, and max 1 hour commute to CBD. As I said, got young kids, so looking for family friendly area, good schools etc. Any suggestions would be gratefully received. Many thanks, John
