    Hi everyone! its been a while since I've been on this forum. My Aussie partner and myself have been living in Sydney for just over 5 years now. We have recently bought a house in Gymea Bay and I'm looking to meet people in the area. My partner is 39, I'm 37. We have 2 children - our daughter is 3 and our son is 9 weeks old. I'm getting a little bored not knowing anyone around here. Would be great to get out and about, and maybe have a glass of wine at the Wine Room in Gymea High Street!! cheers

    Hi, We have a meet up on Friday at The Ranch Hotel in North Ryde. Not sure if you have transport or not, but thought I would let you know. It's from 7.30 onwards. Maybe see you there. E-J

    Have had a look at places. How about El Rancho hotel in North Ryde? It is on the corner of Epping and Herring road. We've been there before and it seems ok. What does everyone think? I imagine we could get there for about 7pm on Friday as Nigel won't get home til 6.30. How does that sound?

    Yes I did post elsewhere too. Will definitely look into places locally. I mentioned Marsfield as there is a couple who are very new to Sydney, and thought that it may be easier for them.

    Hi guys, My boyfriend and I moved to Sydney in November. He is 34 and I am 32. He is an Aussie and has a few friends here, and I am looking to meet new people. Just wondered if anyone lives near Concord (think it is still considered Inner West) and fancy meeting up for a few drinks at some point?

    Thanks christinenpete. It's dawned on me that I have just over 5 weeks to get everything sorted, which is not long at all!! Have a lovely trip Hetty Betty. I remember how horrible it was last year when my OH and I were apart. Lismore, eh?! My OH grew up very close to Lismore! We#re off to Sydney because that's where all his friends are. But will be going up to Lismore regularly (Alstonville actually) as Nigel's mum still lives there! Good luck everyone with your visas!!!

    I am sorry to hear that christinenpete. If I were you, I'd call your agent tomorrow! I got to work this morning. Left it until 10.30 to call my agent. She then told me that she had emailed my home email address and my visa had been approved!! Relieved, excited, nervous at the moment! But very pleased!!!!!! Woohoo!!!! Trying to get 5 minutes with the OH to discuss flights etc but he seems a bit busy at the moment. And exactly 4 months from when I applied!

    Hi guys, Tomorrow will be my 4 month mark. I am so nervous, it is untrue. I finish work on Friday and we have to be out of our house by 7th November. We are absolutely desperate to book our flights as we want to be in Oz by the end of November. Fingers crossed. Watching christinenpete and emmaroo closely! Let me know when you get yours!! x
