    Perth, WA

  3. Because you are from the UK you are entitled to Medicare through a reciprical agreement. Just go into a Medicare office with you visa and passport. I understand you should consider insurance to cover ambulance fees but others will know more. Good luck.

    Opticians??

Specsavers are more expensive here than UK. I have opted to use The Spectacle Site.
  5. All EPL games shown on Foxtel out here, and yes they are on at silly o'clock. They are repeated later in the day and week.
  6. Looking to join anyone already playing at any of the above. I played of 9 in the UK and looking to gain Aussie h/cap.
  7. Thanks Susie, I'll look into John Lewis' insurance, as well as Saga.
  8. Hi Mark, I am going out on a 457 visa and my employer is putting us up in St Kilda for 4 weeks in a hotel. We would have preferred an apartment closer to the western subs as that is where we think we want to rent. We have been looking at western subs as you get more house for your money, its close to where I will be working and needs to be near good schools and parks. Tom
  9. Where are you guys looking to live? Tom
  10. We are too Neil. We fly out on 3rd Jan, we have toight booked our hotel for our one-night stopover in Singapore - fantastic! Our furniture goes on 8th December, our dog goes out on 5th January. Time is flying by very quickly now. We'll keep you posted once we're out there and hopefully see you there! Tom
  11. We are moving to Melbourne in January and are also considering Point Cook. we'll let you know our thoughts once there! My better half has done the on-line reccie on schools in the area. Tom, Debbie, Luis (6)
  12. Hi Sam, We are due out in January (just waiting for flight confirmation) and are looking at locating ourselves in the western suburbs (probably around point cook). We would be happy to meet up once we're out. I am a scot from the east coast but I reckon I could suffer some Glasgow humour! lol Tom, Debbie and Luis (6)
  13. Thanks Eera. This has been extremely useful. When you say fuel - does that mean you don't pay anything else?! I'm not on an hourly rate - salaried - so no issues there with a reduction. I noticed the insurance is compulsory third party - do you need to take out further insurance? I have asked the question of my new employer so let's see what they say...... Thanks again.
  14. That was our thinking too but we are not sure if there financial benefit as the allowance attracts super ann. Thanx.
  15. Hi, Due to arrive in Melbourne with family in January 2011 on a 457 visa. My quandry (or one of them:wacko:) is my prospective employer have given me an annual car cash allowance of $21500 or fully expensed company car. What are the views out there? Thanx Tom with Debbie & Luis (6)
