  1. We washed everything in Jeyes Fluid- (an internationally recognised smell apparently!?) and we got through customs ok.
  2. hi, Heading out to Perth soon and looking at jobs etc... Has anyone been or know what it is like to live in Bunbury? Any recommendations of where to go / eat out / things to do? thanks
  3. Hi, Just wondered if anyone knew when teaching jobs are advertised? Is it periodically throughout the year or is it once the school terms finish? Any advice would be good. Thanks
  4. HI, Are you a qualified SW? I am a Safeguarding Children's Specialist Nurse in the UK, working in the Child Protection arena, supervising school nurses and helath visitors in the community. I am trying to look for similar jobs in WA / Perth. When you have been looking into job opportunities have you come across any agencies worth contacting? I am just trying to work out what the CP system is out there. I have been on the Dept of Child Protection website and there seems to be positions but all for qualified SW's- any tips? GOOD LUCK for the interview!!
  5. hi, does anyone have a number for the perth AHPRA office? The central number is now closed. thanks
  6. Hi again, Do you have a direct number for the Perth AHPRA office? I have only been using the central number in ACT but could do with speaking to Perth direct - anyone have the number??? Thanks
  7. Hi, I am also have AHPRA problems but have had no problem contacting them. I have found the best time to ring is about 10 - 10.30 pm (UK time) so you get to speak to someone first thing. GOOD LUCK
  8. Hi Gordonsmith, When I requested my uni transcripts the uni would only send them direct to AHPRA - it might be worth checking this so you are not waiting for something that will never arrive. When I contacted AHPRA yesterday direct I was informed that any documentation sent direct to them from organisations (i.e original docs) did not need to be certified by a notary /justice of the peace. Hope this helps
  9. Here's another silly question about my AHPRA application form. At the end of the CV do you state who your referees are or do you have to provide references and do they also need to be certified?? How many more hoops do you have to jump through?? Also, I contacted AHPRA direct last night (forgot to ask the above question , oops) and they wont accept docs certified by a solicitor it has to be a notary and they will accept transcripts that are sent directly to them from a university (no need for them to be certified if they are sent direct. Hope that helps someone out there!
  10. some kind of "super solicitor"! We googled public notary http://www.thenotariessociety.org.uk/ and looked for a local one. Its also an idea to phone your local courts as they may have one. Have fun
  11. Gordon we were under the impression that it had to be a notary or justice of the peace....but are phoning ahpra later on tonight.......will keep you all posted with any new info....
  12. Hi, Can I ask if you had your docs certified by a solicitor or a 'notary' - not sure who they are. Thanks
  13. HI, When you submitted your docs did you have them certified by a solicitor or did you go to a 'notary' - not quite sure what this is / how to find one thanks
  14. Thanks for the advice. Just one more thing, did you have every certificate of prof development certified? (even those for in house training?) thanks
  15. HI , Many Congratulations!!! just reading the thread on APHRA - I am not holding out much hope.I am just starting the process which seems like I am going to have to be very patient (not my best asset!) especially with organisations. Anyway, I am completing my application form. How did everyone give evidence of their professional development? I have had my short course certificates / transcripts certified but did anyone sent evidence of mandatory / in house prof development day courses? Thanks for any help....
