  1. Thanks for your responses, we were thinking that it was too much to ask someone else to do. We felt that we were putting all our problems & responsibilities onto our families. We spoke to them last night & they were very willing to do whatever they could to help us but I think we're gonna go home. There is just too much to do. We're hoping to be back here by the beginning of June.
  2. We're here in Melbourne to validate our PR visa. The plan was to just validate, stay for a couple of weeks looking at areas to live & put feelers out for jobs, then go back to UK & sell/rent the house & be back out here in the next few months. Now OH has thrown in the idea of not going back, getting family to organise the sale of the house. He's a contractor so doesn't really have to go back, I have a full time job & not sure how well it would go down if I didn't go back even though they are expecting me to put in my notice when I return. I suppose I could go back alone, try to sort stuff out & leave him here to find a job but I don't like the idea of him being here alone and I'll also really miss him. I'd come back in a month or so. i know it's our decision but just wondered what peoples opinions are on what we should do or if anyone else has had a similar problem.
  3. We don't really need to be in the city this time around. We will be looking at the suburbs within an hour commute to the CBD all around Melbourne so don't really want to have to be going in & out of the CBD everyday. We would also like to keep costs down & staying in the city is pretty expensive. When we finally move out there we'll have 3 cats & a dog with us so we need somewhere with a little bit of space.
  4. Just wondering if anyone can shed some light on a couple of areas that we're thinking of staying for a reccie in March. There is just the 2 of us & we've been looking at a couple of properties, one in the Blackburn area & another in Heathmont. I've no idea what these areas are like, are they safe, relatively trouble free? Any advice or alternative suggestions would be really appreciated.
  5. Hi Tania I should be there somewhere, applied 23rd Dec - Developer Programmer. While I'm here I'd just like to say a big thank you to everyone that posts on here, the information is invaluable and has kept me relatively sane during this process. It's makes you realise that you're not on your own and other people are going through the same roller coaster of emotions as you. Thank you. X
  6. Woohoo, got a call this morning from our agent - got direct grant! Really excited but also a bit scared, it all seems a bit real now.
  7. [quote name=DCAL I heard on another forum that Reflex has a CO. Can anyone else confirm this? I think someone was assuming that we should have a CO by now, but so far heard nothing. According to the PLE reply we got last week we'd been batched but not allocated a CO even though we applied 23rd Dec. Not sure how long to wait before pushing the agent again.
  8. It does make a mockery of the update really, we were waiting for the date to reach us & then nothing. It's a big let down. Trying not to think about it too much but it's difficult.
  9. No CO for us yet, our agent sent a PLE last week & the response was that we had been batched but haven't been allocated a CO yet. A bit frustrated at the moment.
