I thought it would be a good idea to share our experiences of Perth on our reccie trip.
It had been a longtime coming but we had finally got the visa and we visited Perth to activate it, as we are SS by WA i wanted to have a good look around and see which areas suited us, i don't have a job to go to so knowing where we would end up is just a guess at the moment but wanted to make an informed decision on areas, things to do etc.
We started off doing the usual touristy things, visiting numerous beaches, Perth Zoo, Caversham Wildlife Park, Sunset at Cottesloe Beach, Kings Park, Fremantle, Harbour Town shops, we took the drive down to Bunbury and Busselton and visited numerous suburbs to get a feel for the place.
The first week was fantastic, going out enjoying the weather having a look around, but once we had done all the touristy stuff we really struggled for things to do in the day, there are only so many times you can feed the kangaroos and visit Fremantle.
We found the evenings hard, all the shops shut really early the shutters were going down bang on 5pm, we found going out for a meal tedious the customer service was below par and the cost of a meal for two, well put it like this be prepared to spend some dollar, could not believe how expensive it was.
Perth was beautiful to visit and some of the areas were just stunning and having already been to Queensland, Victoria and NSW, i felt that Perth just wasn't for me, i felt that i would find it dare i say a little boring.
I know its only my opinion and this isn't a post to bang on about which state is better than the rest, as its all down to personnel preference, but i felt that it was just lacking something, what i don't know !
Has anybody else visited Perth and felt like this as we are now unsure of which way to turn ?
