  1. Thanks for all the responses - sounds like a long wait ahead! Will update this thread with any other experiences I hear about.
  2. Thanks for the responses! Looks I should be preparing for a 7 month wait then. Not the end of the world. I was on a bridging visa for an eternity before PR. Are there any restrictions on travel between being applying for citizenship and the ceremony? Presumably, as long as I make sure I'm in the country for the ceremony, that's all that matters? Many thanks again.
  3. Hello all I'll soon be applying for citizenship and was wondering if anyone had any experience / heard of others with how long it takes for ceremonies in Woollahra or Waverley Councils in Sydney? I have lived in both so may have a choice as to which to nominate. Many thanks!
  4. Hello all - Can anyone please clarify for me - has the allocation to case officers of onshore 885 applications in Category 5 been put on hold? I read the passage below and I'm confused! As indicated in that information only State Sponsored Offshore Priority 5 applications are currently being allocated and allocations of Skilled Australian Sponsored applications on- and offshore in Priority Groups 4 and 5 are on hold as we seek to ensure sufficient State Sponsored and Skilled Independent applications are in the processing stream to deliver the 2011-2012 Migration Program according to the planning levels set by Government.
  5. Hello all - I am bit confused. I am an 885 onshore Feb 09 applicant. Have they put a hold on 885 onshore applicants too? Just read this online: As indicated in that information only State Sponsored Offshore Priority 5 applications are currently being allocated and allocations of Skilled Australian Sponsored applications on- and offshore in Priority Groups 4 and 5 are on hold as we seek to ensure sufficient State Sponsored and Skilled Independent applications are in the processing stream to deliver the 2011-2012 Migration Program according to the planning levels set by Government. I would expect the allocation of current Priority 5 applications both on and offshore will continue throughout the 2012-2013 Program Year in line with available Migration Program places in specific GSM categories and any Ministerial Processing Directions. http://www.4-corners.com.au/newsletter.html
  6. Would there by any difference on needing to get medicals, police checks etc. redone for onshore vs offshore applicants? Presumably, given that onshore applicants have, by nature, been living in Australia the whole waiting period, overseas police checks would not be necessary again?
