  1. I thought it was 12 months. The AQIS form I just filled in with crown relocations asked for a list of items that we are taking under 12 months old, I spoke to our relocation agent to clarify and she said it was just electrical items of value that they are interested in and not general day to day stuff. We listed our new Hoover and a couple of other things.
  2. Just looking for a bit of advice when filing this form in. Section 5 asks for a list of goods owned by you for less than 12 months. Now i know this is probably a stupid question but am I meant to put goods over a certain value or everything that we have bought recently even small things? Thanks in advance for any help.
  3. We have been told to put some Milton in the washer and run it through a cycle so it's nice and clean inside. Like the other poster said make sure your fridge freezer is clean and dry. We have the packers coming in on 25th of April so I'm also interested in any helpful tips.
  4. Hope your move goes well, I will update when we arrive and let you know any helpful info that you might be interested in. A guy my husband will be working with has just relocated from Sydney to canberra and has enrolled his children in the new school in Bonner so I am also interested to know more about it (I also like the look of the school in Harrison).
  5. Hi all, we leave for Canberra on 27th April, my husbands work will provide temp accommodation for the first month then we will be looking to rent in Forde, Harrison or Bonner areas. We have an 8 year old daughter and I'm hoping to get her settled into school as soon as possible.
  6. I have been quoted by crown £5334 including Aqis fee but not insurance and I have john mason coming on Friday but they have said on the phone it will be around £3500 - £4000 based on a 20ft container from the midlands to Canberra.
  7. We are getting quotes for our move to Canberra in April and have been told by one company that they have been told to expect a 25% rise in freight costs from the shipping lines due early March. They are saying that they will have to put their prices up to reflect this change, has anyone heard similar?
  8. I have been quoted £5310 (not inc insurance) for a 20f container, we have a 4 bed house but its not full. That price includes them packing everything and unpacking everything at the other end. It's our first quote so I don't know how good it is yet but it's one of the more expensive companies I think.
