Got visa not enough funds to validate

We managed to fly with emirates last time and was a lot cheaper because we booked at lot in advance unlike this time lol. They were outstanding, the service and food were fantastic. I always get laughed at because I love waiting for my little inflight meal, I think of it as part of my holiday is that sad? :err: Mrs murky

Hi Stacey No that was the toilet at the hotel, the one on the plane a little boy kept banging on the door and asking people if they were having a wee or a poo, as though he was going to get an answer lol. I only travel with the classy airlines! Mrs murky

Thanks Stacey We have never felt so scared of coming so close to losing our dream. I would never wish anyone to go through the same. Luckily got some really good advise and offers of help off you lot on poms. Mrs murky

Got visa not enough funds to validate

Hi All Thanks for all your kind wishes. We arrived back from Sydney last night. We used Korean airways which we had never heard of but were actually very good apart from the food on the way there being cold, eating cold rice and curry at 6am was not our ideal breakfast in fact I don't want to see any rice for a good while, don't know if they had problem with food warmers? And the Koreans felt the need to constantly walk up and down the isles and start doing squats and star jumps at the side of us, it's not good waking up to someone's bottom in your face it was funny at first. It might sound as though nothing went right but it was really great and nothing could put us off. The kids hadn't been to oz before but really loved nsw and didn't want to come back even though it peed it down day and night the whole time we were there. We where told it was 32degrees the day before we arrived and then brightened up as we got on the plane to come home, just couldn't believe it, it's a good job it wasn't a holiday and the Aussies thought we were crazy going for 2 days. It just felt like home as soon as we got off the plane and everything still seemed familiar even though it was 4years since we last visited and we can't wait to join our friends out there as soon as possible. So now we haved calmed down a bit started back at work today and are now ready for the big save up. Bring it on! Mrs Murky

Got visa not enough funds to validate

Hi everyone Sorry it's taken so long to get back to you all. We swallowed our pride big time and asked some very good friends (best friends in the world now actually) for a loan of some extra flight money and they said anytime. We are so grateful. We booked on Sunday and fly out today with Korean airways, don't know what they are like but as long as they have wings and engine I don't care, even though it wasn't cheap. we will fly to Sydney because told more available daily flights but will only spend a couple of nights there as we we still don't have a lot of funds but knew it wasn't going to be a holiday and beggars can't be choosers. In a way I am happy that we have managed to to this but also a bit sad that when we come back on 27th we will have to pay back cash before we can start saving again, but we will do it. So thanks again everyone we will let you know how it goes  Mrs murky

Got visa not enough funds to validate

Hi everyone Thanks for all your replies again. Myself and hubby are pulling out all the stops today to try to gather cash from wherever we can our pride has now gone out of the window and we are both ringing all numbers on sites that you have given us. I don't think there will be much work going on today just sneaky looks on the Internet and furtive phone calls. I will let you know how it goes later. Mrs. Murky

Hi baby pom I tried Southall travel they seemed just as expensive as the rest as the flights were all from London and we hope to travel from Manchester to anywhere in oz that's the cheapest in such a short space of time. We have to be there before the 30th Sept. Mrs murky

Hi peach Yes I think we have tried sky scanner they all came in at £950 and more I think. I know it's a last minute thing but I thought there might be a couple of bargains out there. I'm beginning to think I'm jinxed. Mrs murky

Got visa not enough funds to validate

Hi all I have been on the Internet comparison sites for cheap flight costs and the cheapest one so far for a family of four adults is £3752 :arghh: oh my god they are way out on those sites obviously just a ploy to get you to phone them and the calls cost a fortune. Any ideas anyone please? Mrs Murky

Got visa not enough funds to validate

Hi All I am sorry for my little outburst and wouldnt normally call anyone for they're opinions but I am just a little tense at the moment. It's tough for most people on their quest to get to oz these days having their money pot drained from the start. We all try with the forward planning but sometimes things happen beyond our control and it's frustrating to hear someone seemingly jump on a thread with comments to purposely wind us up. So if it's not constructive criticism please don't say it Mrs Murky

Got visa not enough funds to validate

Hi Thanks for that sooo useful. Actually we were saving but my hubby's job (plumber) situation worsened quickly leaving him to work for himself and idiots not paying him large amounts for work completed saying he would have to wait til they got paid. Now working for different firms who don't pay on time or at all and running around all over the place spending a few hundred a week on petrol and getting no. Expenses to cover it it's not worth going out to work but he does and never claimed a penny all his working life. Our house have not sold yet so have had to live as normal for quite a while now. So please don't judge us as we are going through hell at the moment and wouldn't wish it on anyone even you. Mrs murky

Got visa not enough funds to validate

Thank you everyone We will keep trying for a credit card or loan, we thought about selling stuff like tv and things but they are so cheap to buy new that we would end up selling all our possessions for nothing. We have already had a couple of car boot sales to start getting ready for the move, but ended up crying and the pitiful amount people were bartering for stuff we paid good money for. We know we can't give up and we won't but it's so tough. Mrs murky

Got visa not enough funds to validate

Hi all Somebody mentioned that if my husband and maybe our 18 yr old went and validated we could re apply for myself and our 14 yr old, but I think it wouldn't work and be left for years thats if they let us in at all and would be very costly again. We are clutching at straws we are that desparate. Mrs murky

Got visa not enough funds to validate

Hi We thought the same about two months ago, if we could get the cash for flights that to hell with it we just wouldn't come back. Leave belongings with family and ship out later but the work situation nosedived as people wanted work done then wouldn't pay up and you can't take them all to court. So left with enough to get 2 of us over. Mrs murky

Hi Thanks for your reply. We haven't got a credit card at the moment as we didn't think we could get one with my hubby being messed about with work. I suppose he could try, but they tell you not to get into any more debt before going. mrs murky

    Packing problems

Hi everyone I'm in the middle of sorting all our belongings for shipping and being really brutal as money is really tight for us at the moment. We have decided to pack our own stuff and have come across items I need help deciding how best to pack, is there anyone who can tell me how their shippers packed small electricals like plug in alarm clocks? I seem to be going crazy with the bubble wrap can electrical items be wrapped in plastic or will they condensate and end up not working? Also do they bubble wrap everything and pack things in tightly so they use smaller amounts of filling? Sorry about asking so many questions that might have been asked before but this is doing my head in at the moment. Mrs Murky

    Packing problems

I understand that C&E are more likely to open your boxes and check them if you pack your own and I imagine insurers are less keen on it too. Anybody had loads of their boxes opened and rummaged through by customs that they think it's because they packed their own? Also do the insurance people have to check the boxes or do they just take your word thats what's in the boxes? My heads in bits now! Mrs murky

    Packing problems

Hi I asked on PiO a while ago about is is worth it to pack your own and got mixed replies, one said he saved loads but had a very large amount and someone said the shippers said it didn't charge much. When I got a quote a month ago they said it Would take them 2days to pack my stuff and I have less than 500 cubic feet which was a shock so I'm sure a could pack just as well. By all accounts I'm packing a little Too well Mrs murky

    Packing problems

Hi all Thanks for the help I thought bubble wrap was the way to go so have gone mad wrapping everything. So should I leave all glassware and crockery items bubbled and unwrap anything else and just wrap in paper then for more space? Do you pack out the boxes with White packing paper as I was told you can't use newspaper? And with bedding and towels etc. I think I might be getting the hang of this now maybe with a little more help from you guys. Thanks Mrs murky

    Packing problems

Hi So all your stuff was packed in paper? What about breakables like ornaments and crockery? Did they pack the boxes out with White paper as well or ddi they use those polystyrene bead thingys? Sorry to be a pest Mrs murky
  24. I'm coming to oz in September, I have an open skills family visa and need to activate it by September. I'm a foreman at a small plumbing heating firm and also have experience in servicing and maintenance of domestic and some commercial boilers and systems. If you could answer the above question as to do you need an oz licence to do this job then it would clear up a few questions I have regarding as to whether I could in fact start work straight away or would have to train for 2 years or so. I have already visited Melbourne and is one of the places we considers moving to when we make the final move. Any info as to if this job offer has been filled already would be appreciated too, thanks mark
