  1. Fingers crossed then that the Police check comes through quickly. May have to buy a bottle of champagne and keep it on ice for the next couple of weeks just in case.
  2. Congrats to all those who have been granted their visa's recently. After having a case officer assigned last week spent last week rushing around trying to arrange everything before the bank holiday weekend. Well medicals have been done today, police checks sent away (Just waiting for them to be returned). Now just got to keep fingers crossed and wait and see. Hopefully get a lovely email sometime in the near future . Can anyone advise me. In the email I received my case officer only asked for meds and pcc. I am wondering if they will they ask for anything else such as Form 80 or any other form of evidence or is this likely to be it?
  3. I kind of know how your feeling. Although both British I have always wanted to move to Australia and have been upfront with my now wife in the 15 years we've been together. She has not always been keen and has had doubts about going. We are now in the final stages of getting our visa and are about to have our medicals. Last year I tried to speak to my mother in law about the possibility of moving to Australia. I even mentioned that I would love her to join us in Perth. The response I got was a resounding no as she was too old to move now (having previously lived in Canada and New York herself) and that my wife would not be moving either. Well we've gone ahead and applied for the visa and I am dreading having to tell her that we are moving. I don't think that there will a right time as she will be devastated that I am taking her daughter away. I wish I had her blessing but this won't happen. To top it off I told my nan and grandad today about us being close to getting our visa. They were not very happy either with the comment "well we will never see any of you again then". Makes it so hard especially as they have known about it for so long. There is never an easy way to tell anyone that you are taking their child away but we only get one life so live it to the full.
  4. Things are really hotting up on here. Congrats to all those who have been granted their visa's in the past few days. Just checked my email when I got in from work and I have a lovely email from a newly assigned CO asking me to submit medicals and police checks. Only applied at end of March and although I've seen others turning pink I wasn't expecting anything for a while yet. Gotta get the medical sorted and police checks sorted tomorrow then.
  5. Wow things seem to be speeding up. I only applied for a 175 visa at the end of March and people were being processed from October or November. I was expecting it to take until July or August before people in March were going to be looked at. Thought I'd take a look and now see that the DIAC are dealing with people in Feb, March and April. I'll be keeping my fingers crossed that I'll be contacted soon.
  6. Hi just found this thread, would it be possible to add me to the list. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for an early Xmas present.
