  1. Do you have a non-paywall source for information on this?
  2. We spent ages on the phone to various companies to get cover for my parents' one way trip. It seems the insurance companies have no interest in risk at all! Gave up in the end and just took a chance.
  3. Do you have any more information / links on this? I haven't come across this before.

    Parent Visa 804 or 864?

I'm not sure those figures are correct - I thought (sorry not done an internet trawl lately) that the 804 was up to 30 years (still not great of course), but maybe as "little" as 6 years?
  5. Sorry - I now find this was noted a few days ago by Lisa De Leon here:

Parent Visa AOS Increased By 50%

Some more info in this news article: https://www.theguardian.com/australia-news/2018/apr/13/australia-doubles-financial-requirement-for-families-of-new-migrants
  7. I've just seen this news report which may be of interest to some: https://www.theguardian.com/australia-news/2018/apr/13/australia-doubles-financial-requirement-for-families-of-new-migrants

Renting with dogs in Melbourne suburbs

Some more recent "news" (still only "proposals" and not all necessarily great, and no links to anything official, but at least it's still being mentioned!): https://www.realestate.com.au/news/the-property-couch-new-victorian-tenancy-laws-explained/

Renting with dogs in Melbourne suburbs

There was also some move to make it easier to rent with pets: https://www.domain.com.au/news/victorian-renters-may-soon-be-able-to-welcome-pets-into-their-home-20160722-gqbn5q/ but I can't see if anything came of it.

Renting with dogs in Melbourne suburbs

This page might be useful: https://www.consumer.vic.gov.au/housing/renting/applying-for-a-rental-property-or-room/pets-and-renting It says: "However, a landlord or owner cannot serve a tenant or resident with a Notice for breach of duty simply for breaking a ‘no pets’ clause in a tenancy agreement, if there has not been damage or nuisance."
  11. I don't suppose you could tell me who their relocation agent was?
  12. Technically it doesn't say that there are no increases to 2nd VACs, but that "Indexation does not apply to 2 nd instalment VACs" - given your experience, does this actually mean the same thing? Maybe I'm being a little paranoid!

SBS reporting on new temporary parent visa

There's more information on page 522 of the The Brand New PIO Parents Visa thread.

SBS reporting on new temporary parent visa

From this budget page you can open this pdf. Here are a few excerpts from pages 17 and 18: I can't find any mention of changes to costs for existing contributory visas.
