  1. I went to an open eve in may, and got my letter saying I had place in june so plenty of time xx
  2. There's plenty of time. Perhaps give them a call, and nudge them to interview you xx
  3. Loved access but it was hard at times. Great being back in education and my tutor has been great and supportive. Good luck, I'm really looking forward to September. N x
  4. I start midwifery in sept, after finishing my access next week. First year of applying too.. I'm amazed but over the moon. Our plan is for me to complete, and do a voluntary placement in my final year with hope of being offered a place at the hospital I volunteer in for the following year. Well that's the dream, lets see how it goes lol. Hubby is a electrician, but aged 41 so not easy route for us to go, plus he really does want a career change in Oz. Good luck to all starting access in sept, I've loved my access course. N x
  5. He is an electrician with 23 years experience, Would it just be a matter of emailing electrical contractors, and asking about work? Hubbys best friend lives in Brisbane, as do my aunt and uncle so they can asist in contacting people for us if need be. Or is there a website with Australian companies post jobs that he could apply for? Thanks Kx
  6. go matilda didnt say no, we started process 18 mths ago with hubby applying (before he turned 40) as hes on the SOL, but they didnt seem to rush and we ended up with 3 months to go before his birthday stopping the process as he hadnt had any info on his VIC UNI assessment or anything. So i feel we wasted the money we spent, and we couldnt afford to spend out more on a very short timescale. I looked at student visa, seems id need 100k aus dollars ish but even then im not guarenteed residency am I? I'm now loooking at our options so to speak. Hubby anxious about doing the trade assessment (he says hes "to long in the tooth") but as its a way out there, then he may have to bite the bullet. I just dont want to spend another £1800.00 like before and end up in same situation. Thanks K x
  7. Can they sponser us to migrate even though i dont have any skills? if they can do an assurance that they can support us for 2 years? Its such a minefield, We would have the funds to give my aunt and uncle for the bond. Also can anyone reccomend a migration agent i could just call for some advise with the intention of using them to do the visas (not go matilda please) Thanks K

    Help

Hi all, Looking for some advice. Hubby and Istarted the visa Process 2 years ago but had to stop due to financial issues and a new baby. Since then, hubby has turned 40 and due to way we were applying, he's now not going to score enough points. I'm in a position to start a college course in whatever I want, in order o be able to apply once I'm qualified. Would be open to suggestions of a fairly quick qualification, so I can get a job here ASAP in order to apply for a visa. would love to apply for midwifery but the courses get so over subscribed, I'm not holding out much hope. What other courses would you recommend? Sorry I kmw Tisa random question, but I can't shake the dream of a move to oz. my aunt and uncle are Australian, and since our visit 10 years ago we have wanted to move, but things always happened. Now I feel it's now or never. And if I don't go for it now, we will never succeed in our dream Thanks in advance Kate x
