    Cockroach?

wait until you are asleep and they run across your face - dont leave your moth open as they run in and out - enough movement to wake you up - true story happenned to ex when we stayed at friends rented appartment in Manly - still makes me chuckle also read somewhere not sure if its true that the shell is so inpenetrable that it can withstand being microwaved hence why so many poisons dont work they dont get in !! probably why a previous poster thought they were staring at him/her - they were ! " go ahead spray me and lets see what ya got
  2. when you sell your car the dealer or a private person will ask if there is encumberance on it ( ie does anyone have any financial rights to it ) normally out of convenience and making sure the encumberance gets removed from the records a dealer will pay the finance company what is owed and then give you the rest assuming there is some. You may end up owing a few thousand depending on age , condition etc but you would be crazy to stay if you dont like it - you can sell the car and leave very quickly if thats what you want to do
  3. which route are you flying - if you are going through chiangi make sure you visit either the transit hotel or the tranisit lounge where you can book a lounger or a roomm- we did for 10 hours on way back to uk and 6 hours on way back to oz - with 8 month old - absolute godsend !
  4. definately go the amubulance one - very easy as you hand it back once your baby gets big enough for regular car seat
  5. yeh now cockroaches you have to be wary of , usually arrive with great fanfare at origin time but then disappear pretty quickly after they get wiped out for the year
  6. whats your ebay id so you can be found ?
  7. hi - can u give more info , kms and where in QLD ? any pics ?
  8. generally that is correct put in an ofer and make it subject to a satisfactory pest and building report and if its not you can withdraw
  9. hey there are some new houses in complex built towards end of macadie way merrimac and also on gooding drive near the old wedding chapel both look ok .certainly worth looking at if they have vacanicies maybe you can put name down with mgt there -there is a newer bunch up one street from the highway on gooding drive but some seem to back right onto highway so think noise and dust could be a problem, - a lot of the complexes just stick a sign out on the street - chateau martinique in robina is a good complex aare several around the street s leading to skilled park stadium - some in woody way and off cheltenham dr and also off the robina town centre drive . it is hard though if you are tyring to do this from interstate . Maybe buy the gold coast bulletin from a major newsagent in sydney or melbourne and check out the rental pages as well
  10. pacific pines was originally built as a cheaper type housing area and for many years was th ebutt of many jokes and comments , its inland and gets very hot in summer ,the crime was also not too brilliant there . I understand it has improved out there but it is almost a little satellite city out there - just my view of it and personally would not live there full stop arundel or robina would be my choices to choose from but if the houses are similar to anyone else i would say choose Arundel so Robina where i live stays that little bit quieter LOL but to a PIO member i would reccomend Robina wholeheartedly
  11. robina and merrimac are next door to each other whereas Helensvale is about 20 mins north. Yes coomera and upper coomera are closer to brisbane but then robina and merrimac are closer to the beaches , the decent ones that is There are plenty of gated complexes and who ever is telling you that there are 10 families to 1 property is pulling your chain as there will be heaps available . 20 years ago it used to get harder during summer as people used thier own rental properties or people used to come here for the warmer weather but now i think you will find a place easily. It may not be your first choice lol but you shoudl get some choice. GAted communities are all very well but as well as keeping out they keep in as well and you need to check on the management as some can be very overbearing and quite dicatatorial in their approach to running their kingdom
  12. i will probably put a few noses out of joint here but after living on the coast for 20 odd years i reckon i have a reaonable idea of the areas - merrimac is a great area - didnt used to be but has come on leaps and bounds and is close to both the M1 to go up to brisbane and south towards Byron etc it is also only 10 -15 mins direc to the beach at broadbeach/ kurrawa/mermaid . RObina is a little south of merrimac and again is a great suburb to live in , the schools in merrimac and robina are good - bear in mind that merrimac high school is not in merrimac but more east towards broadbeach. althought the houses in the likes of coomera and upper coomera look great , big and new in a lot of instances there is regular reporting of trouble at the schools - bullying , fights on you tube etc etc and unless you have very confident kids that can look after themselves or know some one at the schools i woudl avoid those areas - also i believe the crime is higher in those areas. Runaway ay is nice but lots of more expensive houseing as often on the water. Just my thoughts so appologies to those i have offended
  13. going back home for holiday in dec/jan with wife and baby who will be 6 months old at that point . SIA or ethihad or malaysian that is the thoughts as via USA will just be too long - looking at a night stayover on the way out to break up the trip. Susies post on Chiangi has me itching to go via s'pore as previosu trips have been via dubai , tokyo , osaka but 1 - is sia still the best for travelling with babies , 2 - if you get a bassinet do you need some sort of restraint to go in it ? 3 - do you go stay in town or stay at the airport and sight see from there many thanks
  14. uk 2nd hand car market a world apart from over here you will find.
