3. Hi Gill.... My name is Catherine, my husband is Billy and we have 3 children Steven aged 16 (nearly 17), Callum aged 11 and Sarah 19 (who is still in the UK).. I have sent the Fowler family a P.M. but would love to meet up with you too!! We are living in Sanctuary Lakes and loving it!!! Catherine
4. Hi Linda. I'm glad everything is now falling into place for you!! We sold our house in September and are now renting. We decided as our two eldest children have exams to do next June, that we would wait until then to move. So for the time being we are staying here. Will get things organised after Christmas (booking a removal company etc). :jiggy: Please let me know if there is anything I can do for you and keep in touch. Catherine
5. Hi the Hulls.... I am a midwife and yes I did have to do the IELTS Test. Although when I started the visa process over 2 years ago, it was not required for the actual visa (with the DIAC or the ANMC), but it was required to enable me to gain registration as a midwife. I did it at Queens University and did pass 1st time, but I did find it very difficult indeed, the reading part in particular!!! I have some of the books if you think they would be useful to you, but maybe you already have some, you can let me know. And yes I agree, it does seem like a money scam!!!! Catherine
6. Sunday afternoon sounds good... Is around 3.30pm in 8 South ok? We have never been in there so it would give us a chance to see what its like. I will pm you my mobile phone number if you want to use it.. Catherine
7. Think we have just been extremely unlucky!!!!! But I have no doubt we will sell at some point. Now is the time for you to go with your daughter being 4... Our 17 year old daughter is causing us some problems!!! but I suppose I dont blame her... Yes a meet up would be great, I work nights and this week I am working Monday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday (Although we could meet up Sat or Sunday afternoon).... But we are free Tues, Wed and Thurs evenings. If these times dont suit, we could possibly meet up the following week (I will check my off duty when I get into work tonight, as I am not sure what I am working the following week). Catherine
8. We used to live in Baronscourt (5 years ago).. We now live in Lenaghan... Our house has been on the Market since last August... Although has been sale agreed twice and both times have fallen through.. Our price has gone down in total by £25,000 over the year. We dropped the price to £199,950 in March and have been offered £190,000 (which we have accepted)..... We have 3 children aged 17, 15 and 9... We have had our 176 family sponsored visa since Dec 09 and we validated last June when we went to Melbourne. Do you have any children?
9. Hi Jamie and Vivienne..... We are planning to go to the meetup in July... Myself and my family used to live in Carryduff!!! now we live just down the Saintfield Road, where are you based? Our house is for sale at the minute, and we have just sale agreed (again).. Getting very frustrated now!!! Catherine
10.
Hi Chris and Elaine.... Where do you live at the minute? and where are you hoping to move to in Australia. We (myself, my husband Billy our children Sarah, Steven and Callum) live in Belfast at the minute and are hoping to move to Melbourne. Have our house on the market and it is sale agreed (hoping to move out of the houset in the next few months). Hoping to hear from you soon. Catherine

11. Hi Chris and elaine... I live in Belfast with my husband and 3 children and would be interested in meeting up somewhere in Belfast. When would you be hoping to meet up with everyone? Catherine
12. I am from Belfast (still living here).... I would like to think people from Belfast are lovely warm people, as with everywhere you will always get some who are not... There are areas over Belfast where you would not want to be or live in, but when reading PIO, I think this happens all over the world.
13. Honestly..... after a stressful day here.... that is soooo good to hear!!!!
14. Peach.... I have to agree with you....We had to make our initial entry within one year and FOUR years to make the move...... Why is everyone's different???:goofy:
15. I am a registered user in PIO, and when I go into the forum, it automatically puts me in as a Guest...... If I want to make a comment then I have to log in with my username and password... So usually I look at the forums first and if there is anything I feel I can add to the forum, then I have to go through the process of typing in my username etc..... Is this not the case for everyone? And yes I agree, it is TOO ADDICTIVE!!!!! I am on it Hundreds of times a day!!!!!!!
16. Hi Gadget.... thanks for your reply. Have thought about renting the property out, but it is the same old story, we need the money to fund the move..... You are right, houses round here which are being Let go extremely quickly, and its very hard to get one!!!!
17. Where do I start?? My House is Sale Agreed, and has been for around 8 weeks. Went on the market and was sale agreed within about 3 weeks!!!! Couldn't believe it!!!!! But now there is just one problem after another with regard to selling the property...... When we think everything is settled, then BAM!!! something else happens.... I just hope the latest problem doesn't put the buyers off totally...... I am waiting now waiting on a telephone call from my solicitor to advise if the couple who are buying my house still want to go ahead with the purchase......... Had wanted to get out to Australia to live in January (at the latest), but unsure when that will happen now. Sorry for the rant, but I am ready to SCREAM:arghh: If anyone has any ideas on how to get through this selling of a house problem, I would be extremely grateful!!!!! As after all this time, I don't know if I could cope with putting the house up for sale once again and going through the whole process....
18. I was in Melbourne for a Reccie in June and found an UGG shop at Flinders Street Station. If you exit at the main entrance (where all the clocks are) and turn left, you will find the UGG shop. They will charge the full price though. You can also get UGGs at Vicky Market. You will find cheaper/expensive ones and the sellers will tell you their UGGs are the only original ones. I'm sure someone else on PIO will know of other shops to go to, but hope this will keep you going for the time being. Good Luck

hello again

Hi Peter and Tracey... What a lovely post. I'm sure it will take time for you to settle and feel part of the community. As far as I am aware there are people who meet up very frequently within Melbourne. What part of Melbourne have you moved to, as I to, along with my family, are hoping to move there within the next few months. Catherine
20. I watched the video and am totally shocked at what I saw!!! Their sentence is a disgrace and they should be utterly ashamed of themselves, but unfortunately, it doesn't look as if this is the case. The woman wants to "get on with her life" what about the poor man who was punched and kicked.?????? I hope at the very least they lose their jobs!!!!!
21. Hi Sarah.. It is a good idea to ask your daughter first. Although, we would ask our daughter to chat with a few people and she totally refused!!!!:arghh: Fortunately, our son is more willing to chat to anyone!! LOL.... We are hoping to move in December/January time and already have our visas since Dec last year (took about 8 months to be progressed). Out daughter has just had her GCSE results and is now back at school doing her A levels, not an ideal position I know....as you say not good timing... but it is now or never. Hope you get things sorted out with your daughter and if you need any help you know where I am. Catherine
22. Hi Sarah.... This situation sounds so familiar!!!!! Our daughter was exactly the same!!!! It is such hard work... As I have already said to Antonia my son is willing to contact anyone either by E-Mail or facebook if they wish to talk to him.. We have been in the fortunate position that we were in Melbourne recently and my son is all for the move... . I know when we decided to make the move, I was on all the websites looking for help with my daughter, and I have made a few lovely friends along the way. Hope to speak soon.... Catherine
